I was extremely disappointed with my experience. I ordered what I believed was a $49 bottle of wine after discussing options with the staff. Instead, a bottle from the same vineyard was brought to the table that cost substantially more. The labels were very similar, and as someone who is not a wine expert, I had no reason to believe I was being served a different bottle than the one I intended to purchase. I later discovered that the bottle served was $178 instead of the $49 bottle I thought I had selected (a $129 difference). What is most frustrating is that the staff should have clearly communicated the difference and confirmed the exact bottle and price before serving it. When there is such a significant price difference between wines from the same vineyard, customers should not be left guessing based on similar labels. The entire situation left me feeling misled and taken advantage of. To make matters worse, throughout our meal we had multiple stray cats lingering around our table. At one point, there were four cats under our table, and despite our concerns, the staff made little effort to keep them away. This was particularly problematic because two people in our party are allergic to cats. For a restaurant that presents itself as offering a high-end dining experience, allowing stray animals to roam around guests during dinner was both unprofessional and unsanitary. Had the staff recognized the impact this was having on our dining experience, I would have expected them to address the situation promptly. Between the confusion over the wine and the lack of attention to guest comfort, what was supposed to be a special dining experience turned into a very disappointing one. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on my experience.
Our waiter Francesca was knowledgeable and very friendly. The views over the rio de chavon were beautiful! Make sure you bring mosquito spray! We had delicious croqueta de chorizo and risotto with steak. The risotto was creamy, the steak tender and had - for our taste - a little too much salt! But overall a very good dinner!
Extremely disappointing service. Our waitress, a woman with black hair in a pixie cut, recommended two bottles of wine that she presented as being within a very small price range. When the bill arrived, we discovered the wine was actually charged at nearly three times more expensive than what we ordered. When we politely brought this up, she refused to acknowledge that a potential mistake had occurred and failed to attempt to correct the bill or offer any reasonable solution or a simple apology or explanation would have been accepted. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, she became dismissive and essentially ignored our table for the remainder of the evening. Mistakes can certainly happen, but the way this situation was handled was completely unacceptable. Poor communication, no accountability, and terrible customer service. Unfortunately, what should have been an enjoyable dining experience was ruined by the lack of professionalism and concern for customers. I would not recommend coming here unless you want to have a similar potential visit. Waiting staff snickering and seeming amused as we left! Horrible service and average food overall. As a side note we had 4 stray cats that were under our table most of the night! Must admit that was a first but staff didn’t seem fazed by it at all when we brought it to their attention!
Fantastic atmosphere, service, views, and food. Staff were super welcoming, attentive, and made sure that we felt welcomed. We were a no reservation group of 7 with a small child, and we were sat immediately without hesitation. They were understanding in serving my nephew his food as soon as possible, and provided a level of service rarely seen in even at fine dining establishments. The appetizers were amazing, drinks were excellent, and the mains were delicious. Everything was freshly made with care Would highly recommend this establishment for small and medium sized groups.
Might be the best restaurant in all of casa de campo or at a minimum top three. The hospitality, service, food and view were perfect without being stuffy. We had just arrived from the airport and had no reservations and they accommodated us. I had the pork which was cooked to perfection. The waiter, Maximo, was professional, happy and knew service well. After trying most other restaurants, this is the one we made a second reservation for our last night here. Excellent and Bravo!!!
