Booked accommodation. Management very quick to ask for 50% deposit which I paid. Had to cancel dates and asked for refund. Nothing back from them
This was our salvation during our stay in Las Galeras. We stayed in another hotel (because we did not find this one on time) but this was the only place we found to pay with card. Because it is a small village, they usually only accept cash payments, but thanks to this place, we could have so many amazing meals during our stay in this little paradise. We tried a lot of dishes and they were all really good, special mention to the pizzas, super tasty and thin dough. Plus, the staff + owners are amazing!
Great small hotel at the beach. Ran by American gentleman and his lady. Very welcoming and helpful. Good food at the restaurant with a beautiful view of the ocean, nice set up and really friendly staff...
Absolutely delightful host and staff, highly recommend the yurt experience 👍 😀 Food great and the grounds, Whimsical👍😀
We stayed there for 5 nights at the end of January. The property itself looks quite alright from the outside, and the garden and location are good. But that's about it. Read the reviews from the last 4 weeks – I don't know if it's just a bad spell, but it's simply not great – even for the low price. The reception is unmanned; the cook handles check-in and hands out the key. Payment to the owner by credit card, as advertised on Booking.com, isn't possible – PayPal is available on-site. The rooms are run-down and simply outdated. Starting with the ancient bathroom where nothing is in its proper place (shower holder broken, toilet paper holder crooked, mirror broken and dusty, the entire sink area dirty and broken), and the walls and ceiling are infested with maggots/larvae (please see the photos). The hot water didn't work on 3 out of 5 days – the cold water smells unpleasant. There was no information whatsoever about whether or when the hot water would be restored – not even after inquiring through Booking.com or at reception. ... The safe is tiny and doesn't even fit an iPad. The beds were okay. Upon arrival, the whirlpool was dirty and full of leaves. There were old animal bones in the garden, just 3 meters from our bungalow door. Our room was cleaned only once, despite the sign on the door requesting cleaning. The complex locks up in the evenings; if you arrive after 10:30, the gate is locked, and you're supposed to contact them via WhatsApp. We decided against trying this and returned before then. Breakfast (not a buffet, but a choice of Dominican, American, or continental options served at the table) consisted of toast and eggs. I didn't even try the old, curling ham. The coffee cups were often not entirely clean, the breakfast juices were iced, and the papaya in the fruit selection was often overripe. Something gave my girlfriend diarrhea every morning, which thankfully cleared up after two hours. If you have a sensitive stomach, I would recommend skipping the fruit and juice. At breakfast, and generally in the restaurant, there's a small dog that unfortunately smells bad and is completely neglected. It constantly rubs itself against the wooden furniture and sometimes even against the guests' shoes. I would recommend that the owner renovate the bathrooms and then have all the rooms thoroughly cleaned. The dog needs to see a vet and/or have a bath. Instead of having the garden raked for three hours every day, perhaps the rooms should be cleaned? The property has real potential, but in its current state, I can't recommend anyone book an extended stay there. I'm sorry I didn't even leave a tip because of these bad experiences—but it's undeserved. There was no attempt to accommodate them or even provide information about the lack of hot water, cleaning, and the broken bathroom. I can't pay another peso—even though the friendly women probably deserved it. What's missing here is a manager who can say what needs to be done to get the hotel running smoothly again.
