I rent from this car rental company whenever I can. Unlike many others here, they don’t require you to purchase the additional insurance, which is typically $20 to $30 per day. A lot of companies don’t clearly disclose this upfront and only present it once you’re there, leaving you with little choice but to pay. It’s a very misleading process. This company is transparent about it, which is a big advantage. They do require a $1,500 credit card deposit, but after renting with them at least 10 times, I’ve always received it back without any issues. I’ve also had a situation where I returned a car with damage. As expected, I had to pay for it upfront in cash, but the team was extremely helpful throughout the process. They worked with me and provided all the necessary documentation to submit a claim to my supplemental insurance, which ultimately reimbursed me. They speak English too! Are very accommodating, and consistently provide excellent customer service. It’s a business, and they handle things professionally while making the entire experience smooth and straightforward.

Avis did a great job with this rental. Their Santo Domingo Airport office was extremely professional. Moises and Luis were very helpful. We rented a Mitsubishi 4x4 truck. It was in perfect condition and very comfortable for all of us with a large back seat. It was a diesel, so economical on fuel. It was easy and fun to drive. We explored some remote places where it was very useful. We highly recommend Avis Santo Domingo Airport office!

Scammers. Charged me $1,036 USD (61,642.00 DOP) for what they claim is windshield replacement. This is the photo they provided to support that claim. Note that in the pre rental inspection there are absolutely no close up photos of the windshield. IF there actually is damage (photos just look like dirt) it is completely within AVIS rental terms and agreement as normal wear and tear. Also caught the representative scratching the side of the car with the key. Immediately pulled out my phone and recorded him. Avoid this place.

I went to few places before I came to this rental location. Emmanuel received me with such a great smile and energetic attitude and gave me all the options and clearly explained the rental available. It is very nice to be welcomed like that and know all your options before you can take a car. He also gave me a good price compared to the other places I visited which all have more expensive or no car availability. Thanks Emanuel for being a great agent and all your assistance.
