Very large resort, with a wide choice of activities and restaurants, as there were other hotels from the same chain next door that guests could access. There were several buffets and restaurants of decent quality. The three DINNERS included in the THEMED RESTAURANTS that we chose were: (1) Steakhouse, definitely the best one, very good meat and fast service. (2) Show cooking at the Japanese restaurant, a nice experience. (3) Fish Market, the worst one by far, long wait and rather average dishes. Considering the size of the resort, it would have been helpful if someone had explained where the various places we could access were located on the map, as we only discovered the beach buffet reserved for our hotel during the last few days. Also, few staff members speak ENGLISH, which sometimes made communication difficult. The CHECK-IN was very slow and the porters took away the paper with the Wi-Fi access, so in order to communicate we had to go back to the reception to ask for it again. For the CHECK-OUT, we had arranged for our luggage to be picked up from the room at a certain time because we had a transfer, but the porters never arrived. The “TRAIN” with the different stops was convenient for moving quickly between the various areas, and the app was also useful to request assistance or check the daily program. The BEACH (beautiful sea) and the POOL (close to the beach) have few sunbeds, so it’s best to go early to get a spot. By 6:30 a.m., the ones under the umbrellas were already taken. Clean towels at the kiosk near the beach were often already gone by 9 a.m. The other two pools, on the other hand, do not fill up early and are quieter. The bracelet with the room key is very convenient, although we had problems accessing the room during the first few days and the issue was only fixed on the third day. The WI-FI worked intermittently. The GYM has excellent equipment, which is hard to find in holiday resorts. The ROOMS are a bit dated, but the HOUSEKEEPING CLEANLINESS was excellent.
We had the most amazing experience at Bahia Principe! We came to celebrate our 14-year anniversary, and everything from start to finish was absolutely incredible. The room was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. The food was delicious with so many options to choose from every meal was a treat! But the biggest highlight of our vacation was the entertainment team. They truly made our stay unforgettable. A very special thank you to Nicky (the head of the team), Maria, Caramelo, José, and Babalú. Their energy, kindness, and passion made every activity so much fun. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt included and had an amazing time. This resort is truly incredible. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to relax, have fun, and enjoy an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back!
The beach is small and overcrowded, the pools do not have enough loungers either... it's a VERY big complex. The staff are excellent and there are a lot of them, in all departments, running the whole place smoothly. The food is generally good, plentiful, and varied; it's mainly a self-service buffet set-up, which of course means sometimes the food temperature isn't quite what it should be!! Evening (& pool/day) entertainment is ok... standard fare for this sort of family resort. The rooms are a mixture of old and reconditioned, we were in an older room.... and it really wasn't as bad as some reviews make out lol Mosquitoes and cockroaches?, .. yes of course... it's a tropical environment... come prepared, but there's no big problem here. Finally... this is NOT a 5 star hotel; it's 3 - 4 stars really, but the price reflects that fact, and in my opinion it is GREAT value for money.
I just came back yesterday from Baha family resorts. I stayed at the Turquesa. I have stayed at the other resorts as well, but the Turquesa is my favorite!Service is absolutely amazing. Food was quite good although I have seen severe cutbacks in the years, that I have been going there. I was very disappointed that going six years does not get you any extras for sure! Our rooms were actually probably the cheap seats? I had encouraged three friends to accompany me. I have to admit I was almost embarrassed. They wanted to enjoy the beach and no matter what time you went. There was towels holding spots on the chairs and yet nobody came all day. so we went in the evening. Not a great time for sunbathing. then there was a problem with one of the bars when the bartender was more interested in the Spanish speaking people there than English. And it was strikingly obvious. So we went to different bars. Or ordered it through the waitress. There is a wonderful little restaurant beside the buffet at the Turquesa. The service is amazing and the food was very nice. It was one of my favourite spots on the whole resort. I went there regularly for lunch and a wonderful little spot to sit back in the afternoon. I really don’t know if I will be going back? I have noticed such a slide in the years that I have been going. Weather is fantastic usually, and the service and cleanliness is wonderful!
The first room we were given was not great.there was mold in the bathroom. As my daughter and I have breathing issues we could not stay in that room. The management team was amazing and moved us to a renovated room free of charge! Yan on the entertainment team was amazing!!! He was so friendly and funny! Food was great. No complaints there. Beach was great, pools were fantastic! Thank you for a great week!!!
