This place is a hidden gem located in the middle of the Samana city, It's a little bit in away from the Malecon, so im sure it may get tricky for turists but its TOTALLY WORTH IT. I was spending a hard time finding real food criolla buena you know, like really nice food with the traditional spices and awesome flavor. One thing to note is that they gave me a Pork Tenderloin (Medallions) as Fillet Mignon one i almost sent back till i did a little search... Man!! they sure have to specify its from Pork but it was tasty, on point, one of the best ive had! Wifey had Curry chicken; and for entrance we had Chivo Cativias! Everything was awesome. Plus we had the honor to meet the Chiefs which were next to us tasting something themselves, which is always a good sign! We'll be back to this Non-Turisty Food Hidden Gem in the middle of Samana City.
We went here for dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves. The food wasn’t only delicious but was served beautifully. Great portion size. The service was absolutely top notch. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. Honestly the best service we had so far in the DR.
I wish I could give this restaurant more stars but the food was a hit or miss. The ambience is nice, the music and lighting is just right. The atmosphere is good a romantic dinner or a quiet dinner with family with nice music playing the background but you can still hear each other talk. The staff is professional and they have good customer service. The place was clean and looks well. BUT... we had dinner twice and the food was ok the first but the second time it was not good. The first time we ordered a fillet mignon and pulpo. The fillet mignon was ok albeit a bit overcooked. The pulpo was not great, it was rubbery. The drinks were good. We wanted to give it a second try so we ordered their paella but it was very salty and the rice was under cooked. We also tried their creme brulee but it did not taste like creme brulee at all.
This place has a great atmosphere! They have 3 sitting areas; one outfront outside, a middle air conditioned section, and a back section that is covered with a polycarbonate roof with nice fans that create a cool outside experience. The food was just as great! Definitely will be stopping back here again on the next visit!
My new number one in St. Barbara de Samaná. Excellent service, outstanding cuisine, and a wonderful atmosphere. All restaurants in Samaná share the same starting point due to the limited availability of supplies, meaning the basics are relatively similar for everyone. However, the creativity that this kitchen brings to the table is unparalleled. It eclipses all other restaurants, even though it's located in the second row. Visit this restaurant, and you'll experience homemade ravioli, freshly baked bread, and many creative culinary ideas. I will definitely be coming back. Additionally, the staff's attention to detail and friendly service make dining here a true pleasure. The ambiance is perfect for a romantic evening or a casual dinner with friends. The chef's innovative approach to traditional dishes is refreshing and delicious. This place is a hidden gem in Samaná, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
