On our first visit, the service was amazing and the food was great. The staff was very attentive, professional, and welcoming, which is exactly why I was looking forward to coming back. I returned the very next night with high expectations. Unfortunately, the second experience was completely different. The spicy vodka pasta was so salty it was inedible .. genuinely not fit for consumption. I did not eat the dish. What made the situation worse was how it was handled. After speaking with both the waiter and the manager, they still tried to force me to take the dish home and pay for it, despite the fact that it was not consumed and clearly flawed. This restaurant has serious consistency issues, both in the kitchen and in how problems are resolved. I would not recommend.
I had a blast from the experience. I had never been but it was worth every penny. The place looks amazing. They have outdoor seating too. The staff is amazing, very focused on attention and details. Compliments to the manager and the sommelier. Great experience with great food. When in Santo Domingo, this is the place to visit.
When walking in, the atmosphere is inviting and upbeat, but weren’t greeted by the maître d'. They do have a no hat policy which is ok but a bit dumbfounding. I had a cowboy hat which was told to take off, not bad since you don’t wear covers in doors, yet most patrons were walking in polo and t shirts. We were sat promptly. The server took our drink orders and we also ordered the cheese bread as a starter. The cheese bread was okay but we were expecting more based on the description. The burrata looked good but the tartar lacked flavor. I could tell that the burrata was previously frozen because it was too “watery” on the inside instead of a more buttery creamy texture. As a fine dining establishment I was expecting a more broad list of meat cuts and not the more safe ribeye and strip options. The redemption did come when my 12 oz ribeye was brought out in a medium rare temp. Bravo. 👏. I also recommend the olive oil cake with a small dollop of ice cream at the top as a dessert. Expect to spend 100 usd per person. Also, valet parking is available which is another plus.
It is a nice place, atmosphere is great, good music, food is good. For a place like this, I strongly believe personnel should be trained better, only the manager (I think he was the manager) speaks English, fortunately, myself and another friend speaks Spanish and were able to help our other friends to place the order. Service was a little slow.
We stayed at Hyatt annd this was our go to restaurant, they were very nice, the food was great. When there were issues they quickly fixed it .
