A must-see museum in Santiago & made me regret not visiting more culture centers in the area.

My Dominican husband and I went on a Friday evening and the entrance was free 💖 We are not big museum visitors but this one is amazing!! This museum feels like a tour around the history of Dominican Republic; from food to beliefs, from jobs in the olden days to tobacco, the Taino history, the fish found in the island's ocean, Dominican baseball, carnival, instruments and music 🪇 I would suggest visiting this museum at the beginning of a trip, it gives you good insight of what to look out for if you want a really Dominican experience during your stay 🦀 After we went around the museum, there was a music event happening in the terrace of the cafeteria, which we really enjoyed too 🥰🪘

Really nice. The private collection is quite extensive, with a big range of art pieces (no pictures can be taken in that room tho). Otherwise, the other section was quite informative with a lot of history and art as well. Note: the second floor was closed due to a new exhibit in the works. Highly recommend a few hours to stop by and see amazing local art, alongside learning about local history and culture.

Great experience, we went with kids and they enjoyed everything. Like to learn about our origins and would love to go back.

A truly amazing art gallery and place to spend the day with the family. They have five or six galleries as well as a bird sanctuary, water fountain, cafe and places where you can picnic or take photos.
