I was under the care of Dr. Rosi Santos for the last seven months of my pregnancy. Less than two weeks before my due date, she abandoned me as a patient simply because she felt offended by my questions about my care. Despite my trust in her from the very beginning, I was left without guidance, appointments, or support at a critical stage. Her actions were unethical, unprofessional, and have caused me significant emotional distress, including fear and anxiety about my health and the safety of my unborn baby. This abandonment forced me to urgently seek care elsewhere, but most private hospitals would not accept me this late in my pregnancy. I want to warn other patients: a good doctor understands the worries and fears of a first-time mother without taking offense or abandoning their patient. I hope my review helps others make informed decisions about their healthcare.
I do not recommend the Hispanic Medical Center. With the exception of the doctor who delivered my wife's baby, the experience was very negative. They demand full payment upfront before performing a C-section, regardless of whether it's an emergency, and even wait for the transfer to clear in their account before proceeding with care. The nursing and support staff showed a complete lack of attention and empathy. During her stay: My wife's personal belongings went missing, and they never responded. The nurses constantly made noise in the hallways, disrupting our rest. On several occasions, we requested assistance, and it took them up to an hour to respond. They left my wife without dinner one night. On the day of her C-section, a nurse made her stand up, causing her to lose consciousness. I had to hold her up to prevent her from falling. They only accepted cash or bank transfers, which is very inconvenient considering the amounts involved. It is concerning that these kinds of situations occur in a medical center. Hopefully they will improve their processes and patient care.
If you're unwell, don't go. First time I've ever visited their center. And last. You go in for an emergency and they're incapable of paying attention to you. The lack of interest is so profound that ten nurses walk right past you, not one even bothering to ask what's wrong or how you're feeling. The service is awful; it leaves much to be desired. If they can't even manage to staff an emergency, they should close that department. Mind you, I left without even receiving any service. The billing clerk, who was the only one who paid any attention to me, was told by the doctor that I was there and they hadn't seen me, and she acted like nobody had spoken to her. Truly horrible.
I had a terrible experience at this clinic. I regularly go there as an adult and have never had any problems, but this time I took my 6-year-old nephew, who is on the autism spectrum. Thankfully, he's healthy, but he had the flu and was complaining of ear pain. From the moment we arrived, the treatment was very unpleasant. There were two women attending to him, and they were very rude and completely lacked empathy. One of them didn't even know how to insert the needle correctly and ended up calling the other one over because she got scared. Furthermore, the first person who examined the boy (I'm not sure if she was a nurse or a doctor) only checked one ear. When I asked why she wasn't checking the other, she replied, "If one ear is bad, the other one will be too," which I found very unprofessional. Then they immobilized his hand with a device. My nephew isn't used to that kind of procedure and obviously cried a lot, but at no point did they show any empathy or try to calm him down, even though they knew he was a child on the spectrum. When we asked them to remove the immobilizer, the reaction was extremely unpleasant. They finally gave us a prescription, and when we asked how he should take the medication, the response was simply, "It says so right there on the instructions." My nephew lives in the United States and is used to much more humane and considerate treatment, especially given his condition. The lack of sensitivity, patience, and professionalism at this clinic was glaringly obvious. If you have a child with special needs or expect respectful treatment, I honestly would not recommend this clinic.
Well, just look at the rating, that's enough. If the owners and administrators don't do anything or take patient comments into account, then let them keep doing that. And in time, you'll see that clinic suffer the same fate as Juan Carlos's. The only decent one is the dark-skinned, slightly stuttering doctor in the ER; after that, everyone else who's treated me has been inconsistent. I haven't been there in years.
