This was one of the worst hospital experiences I have ever had. My wife, who was visiting the Dominican Republic as a tourist, began experiencing severe heart palpitations around 12:30 AM. She was also suffering from intense stomach pain and had difficulty breathing. We searched for the nearest hospital on Google and immediately took an Uber there, hoping she would receive urgent medical attention. Upon arrival, her international credit card would not work. We asked if we could transfer money directly from our bank account to the hospital's account, but the staff refused. Despite her obvious distress and medical emergency, no one came to assist her. She was left waiting for nearly an hour while struggling to breathe and in significant pain. Eventually, we were able to find some cash and make the payment. Once admitted, the conditions were unacceptable. The bed had a dirty sheet, and we even found bedbugs. To make matters worse, the only treatment she received was a painkiller before being discharged. No EKG was performed. No thorough examination was conducted. No effort was made to investigate the cause of her heart palpitations or breathing difficulties. Based on our experience, patient care seemed to come second to payment. The service was unprofessional, lacking compassion, and deeply disappointing. We also felt that we were treated differently because we were foreigners. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone traveling to the Dominican Republic. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for care.
My experience was with Dr. Deschamps, we had an appointment he was punctual, informative, knowledgeable, caring, and respectful. Genuinely good experience. Highly recommend
Good... But how about a phone number!?!?
Good experience
Absolutely terrible. The staff's attention, the hygiene, the rooms, the conditions of the place—in the emergency room there's mold leaking from the ceiling, the air conditioning doesn't work, and the air conditioning in the rooms doesn't work either; it turns on but doesn't cool the rooms, there are leaks everywhere, and it's unbearably noisy. The staff wastes a lot of time talking nonsense. I think the worst part is the cashier area; there's only one person working, and they're incredibly slow. The waiting areas aren't air-conditioned. The beds are made of old iron (the tilt mechanism is very limited and manual). There's only one orderly for the entire clinic; you have to find them yourself for assistance because they get lost among all the calls. I think it's the worst health center we've ever had to visit.
