Bad management. Not letting people go in shorts when the mosquito is famous for its chill vibes at the beach or at zona colonial is just wrong. Even dress shorts arent allowed, and its sad cause it should be such a nice vibe bur they didnt match it in the Santiago one
Nice place Fun and great for hanging out Drinks are high priced Food is at good prices, but in Santiago there is a very small menu, hope to see more options in the future 😀
New chic place in Santiago, cozy decor. Compliments to the chef and Jordan at the bar. Great service. Great ambiance. Its place to go when in Santiago.
Zero flexibility and a disappointing departure from the other locations My group and I were deeply disappointed by our experience at El Mosquito Santiago. As longtime customers of the original Las Terrenas and Santo Domingo locations, we were excited to visit. However, the manager here showed absolutely no flexibility and refused us entry. It's important to clarify that we were not coming from the beach or wearing athletic shorts. We were dressed in neat, casual shorts like chinos and linen that are perfectly standard and acceptable for a city bar. We weren't trying to break a formal dress code, but we were turned away at the door for an unstated rule. This rigid enforcement at a bar feels completely contradictory to the brand's chill and welcoming spirit. I would strongly caution anyone, especially fans of the original, to think twice before visiting the Santiago location unless you are dressed for a formal club.
It's so stupid that a club based on the beach doesnt let guys in with short pants. They're targeting the wrong type of people. Don't go there. I love their bars in Las Terrenas and La zona Colonial cause of their chill vibes and they're doing the opposite in Santiago
