Great place to stay, we had a very nice apartment on the fifth floor with great views. Beautiful pools with a bar as well as a restaurant. About a 15 minute walk along the sea front to the centre of town.
The hotel was lovely. Great apartment, awesome view. However, the restaurant, both the one on the rooftop and on the first floor, was not very good… specifically the desserts like the carrot cake and the flan, tasted old and like they were kept in a box for a long time. The hot food, like the paella and hamburger were good! The pasta was okay. But, if you want good food in Samana… please explore outside the hotel for better food!
The best cost benefit of our trip. It delivers more than expected. Nice, spacious rooms, amazing views. The rooftop pool and bar are a highlight - I wish we had more time to spend in the hotel. The breakfast was by far the best we had in our trip. The staff is very nice and the AC actually works! Only thing is that the rooms are facing a very loud road so the balcony doors really need to be replaced by sound proof doors - I had to sleep with earplugs on.
This hotel was truly enjoyable. The view of the bay was breathtaking. The staff were overall great. One of the waitresses in the restaurant was not very good at her job and did not bring any of the requested items to the table during the complimentary breakfast. I requested for tea with milk, I was almost finished eating and had still not gotten it but I seen her serving other guest. Finally my fiancé got the attention of another waiter and he helped and brought it over. The front desk staff were very friendly and super helpful and accommodating. The were kind, empathetic and took the time to problem solve when needed. I wish I would have taken the name of the front desk lady and security guard who truly helped my fiance and I. They were calm, patient and came up with a solution in no time that was safe and helpful to everyone involved. If they sees this, thank you. My fiancé ordered food from the rooftop. The food and drinks are good but quite pricey in my opinion. Upon checkout, they accidently tried to charge us for a meal that we didnt not consume, however they did a quick investigation and did realize it was not my fiancé and I and removed it from our bill. The roof and walls on our balcony had some holes and that made us a little concerned about the overall structure of the building but we still would sit outside and enjoy the view of the bay. Also the rooftop was nice but there isnt enough seating (especially shaded seating or loungers) Overall, would come back.
While I understand that our booking was made last minute, a hotel carrying a 5-star rating should be able to maintain its standards regardless of the booking window. Unfortunately, our stay fell short of the premium price tag in several key areas: • Check-in Delays: Despite arriving at the scheduled time, we were forced to wait an additional 30 minutes for our room to be ready. This is rarely a great start, especially when you're looking forward to settling in. • Housekeeping Oversight: Upon finally entering the room, we discovered there were no towels provided. Having to call down to front desk for basic amenities is a friction point that shouldn't happen in a luxury establishment. • Underwhelming Breakfast: The breakfast service was a major letdown. For a high-end hotel, the selection was limited; most notably, there was no station or option for a simple omelette. It felt more like a standard continental spread than a gourmet 5-star experience.
