Formidable place in Dominican republic, provide services for pregnant ladies every times non stop.
My first birth was there almost seven years ago, and it went very well. They showed me a lot of care, especially one woman who stayed by my side throughout the entire labor, telling me what to do and how to push. Now I'm six months pregnant, and they referred me back there to give birth. I'm hoping to God that it goes as well as, or even better than, in 2019.
I've been a patient there since 2021. They referred me to the cervical pathology department for gynecology, and I've really liked it. It's like a second home; the doctors and trainees are very professional and always find solutions, no matter how big the problem. The other day I had to go to the emergency room because I had remnants from a recent abortion, and they treated me very well. I can't complain at all. I leave when they discharge me.
The hygiene and sanitation in the maternity ward at Lady in Degracia are extremely concerning. There was no soap or toilet paper available, and access to other restrooms was very limited, which is unacceptable given the number of women present. Shockingly, I have been to restaurants that maintain higher hygiene standards than this hospital. Poor sanitation in a maternity setting can lead to higher infection rates, which in turn could contribute to more maternal complications and even maternal deaths. I also have serious concerns about how the staff wash their hands or maintain cleanliness. These conditions are unacceptable for an institution responsible for the care of mothers and newborns. I am only giving it two stars because the staff were very friendly; however, the hygiene was unacceptable.
I enjoyed giving birth there; they treated me well. I suffer from preeclampsia, and they resolved it quickly. The only thing is that they should leave a family member with you to help, but otherwise, everything was fine. It's just that being alone isn't good because I'm pregnant with my second baby, and I want to have it there, but imagining being alone... hmmm, I don't know. After that, everything was fine.
