My friends’ daughter was in a motorcycle accident. She was hit by a motorcycle while she was crossing the street. The hospital offered them nothing to check if she had internal bleeding or broken bones. She had a massive head wound and they sent her home with no test. They ended up going to a different hospital to get checked out.
Today I want to express my profound disappointment with the Vinicio Calventi Hospital. I traveled from Santiago to be with my sister, who was hospitalized in critical condition, and what I found was alarming. The area where she was hospitalized had a deteriorated ceiling, with multiple leaks falling even near her bed. The presence of cockroaches was obvious, and the filth in the bathroom and room was unacceptable. I had to buy bleach and clean myself because the conditions were unsanitary. I also observed that the cleaning staff used the same dirty water to clean several rooms, which puts all the patients at risk. This isn't just a matter of resources; it's a matter of responsibility and respect for human life. A hospital may have limitations, but hygiene is basic and mandatory. What I experienced there was total neglect. It's painful to see sick people having to face such conditions. I hope the authorities take action. People's health deserves dignity. 😡😭
The facilities are in terrible condition, and the patient care is appalling. I had knee surgery and had to take the stairs to and from the third floor because the elevator is out of order. Some of the doctors and nurses have terrible tempers, as if they were bored. The bedside tables in the rooms, the ones patients use to store their belongings, are infested with cockroaches.
The service from the emergency room doctors is very bad; if one of them makes a mistake, they pass the blame to another, and they spend the whole time arguing amongst themselves, while the patient, who is practically about to die, is left just complaining.
