Do not come to this Hospital is so terrible they don't have sheets the don't have beds and they treat patients very bad, especially tourist!!! They don't care for anybody, it was a nightmare for my partner who came with food poisoning from the Resort Ocean el Faro by the way almust everyone over there it was getting sick with food poisoning, we call the ambulance $500 just from the Resort to the Hospital, it was so scary after we finish we don''t have money anymore we took a car service back and a militar stop us with suspicious looking overall we never comingback to Punta Cana ever again is a shame for Dominican Republic.

I had a nice experience, where my daughter was treated of food poisoning. An experienced Doctoress took care of her really fast and I paid around 40 dollars for the treatment, way less than from private Clinics in the Island.

We pay taxes for things like this? Any VETERINARY clinic offers better service! Don't even think about going there for emergency care, because you'll find three hopeless people sitting in front of closed windows with the lights off, resignedly waiting to see when (and if...) they'll be seen... apparently, emergency care is only available when it's convenient, not when someone has an accident or any other urgent health situation. Moving on to the main entrance, it's blocked and guarded to prevent anyone from entering, and you see people crammed together as if they were handing out handouts or as if it were a trendy social spot everyone wants to be in, instead of a service for people with health needs (I've attached photos so you can see what I mean).

Posting to confirm that as of Aug 16, they do have the rabies vaccine, they will give it, and it is free for citizens & foreigners alike. Spanish fluency is highly recommended, as you WILL have to advocate for yourself & the hospital is very busy and you may be shuffled around to different departments. Additional details to come.

If you need a Rabies vaccination, go here! They will give it for free. We had to go to 6 other hospitals that did not have the vaccination or did not want to give it. It is clean and the people are friendly.
