The staff is very friendly and helpful. They really look out for you, and that is what stood out the most for me. They looked out for me with Ubers, navigating around the area, and even were worried when I didn’t wake up in time for breakfast. In fact, they kept the cafeteria open for me to make sure I got to eat. (They can bring it to you for a modest fee, FYI.) The accommodations are basic but adequate, which is fine if you’re like me and not planning to spend a lot of time at your hotel. The shower had hot water and decent water pressure. The area around is the hotel is very convenient. It’s less than 2 blocks from El Conde (pedestrian street with lots of shops), 1 block from a supermarket, and 5 min walk from Parque Colón, where there’s always restaurants and lots of life. I felt very safe here.
The building has some charm and the rooms are clean, but I would not stay here again. The place could improve significantly with small adjustments. For example, the air conditioner in my room made an extremely loud noise, making it unusable, and breakfast service was inconsistent, with no staff present on several mornings. The main issue for me, however, was staff conduct. As a woman traveling alone, I felt uncomfortable due to repeated boundary-crossing behavior from a staff member. Although he was overly friendly, it went beyond what felt appropriate. On one occasion, he came up to my room to deliver breakfast, which made me uneasy. Additionally, one morning a supervisor appeared to be drinking alcohol early in the day and smelled strongly of it, which raised concerns about professionalism. While the hotel has potential, these issues ultimately made me feel uncomfortable and unable to relax during my stay.
Just forget what others write here. If you want the Hilton or Hyatt standard then you gotta go there. Just be realistic: it’s a basic hotel, but for that it’s one of the most charming and nicest hotels in the whole area. Remember you’re in the middle of the uber popular Zona Colonial. The hotel interior is very nice. The staff is highly professionally and courteously. The rooms are clean. I’m extremely happy here. Absolutely great price. You gonna love it if you’re ok with a basic hotel. Manager Jessy Aybar is one of the best managers I met on my worldwide travels. Super professional and super friendly.
I'm totally speechless. Paid $55. I would say "you get what you pay for, but this was another level" First room we got A/C was leaking. We left to eat for an hour and we came back and half the room was flooded. They gave us another room. This time the bathroom was leaking. And the Lobby person said, "OH no, don't shower let me change your room again because that water may be sewage". After I already got leaked on just trying to use the restroom.🤣🤣🤣 Third room (upstairs) looked like a closet and reeked of humidity as if I was the first person in this room in month. Restroom seemed larger than the bedroom though. Lol The entire situation was so unexplainably horrific, but I just sucked it up and kept humbly letting the Lobby Attendant know what was going on. Staff had a good attitude, and really everything was beyond their control. I'm guessing this is normal for all rooms.
The rooms are very basic and outdated. They could be cleaner. It was quiet at night. The breakfast is very basic and not worth waiting for if you are on the go. The area is nice but there is difficulty parking if you have a car. The people are very nice.
