This is a great place to stay on or off a budget. The family that owns this Hotel are wonderful folks and can help you with whatever you need. The rooms are reasonable, clean and inexpensive. The food is Dominican fare and is wonderful. We have stayed here for years and are satisfied every trip! Ignore the negative posts, Clean, safe hotel OWNED by lovely people.

An excellent bargain! Friendly staff. Clean. Well located. I have stayed at other value-oriented [budget] hotels in Santiago. The Colonial is by far the preferred choice. I have also stayed at more upscale hotels in Santiago and they are not worth the extra money. I am delighted to recommend the Colonial to all savvy travelers.

Great location closed to one of the main avenues of Santiago. The place is not a Five star hotel but is perfect for those with a very low budget. Customer service is good sometimes slow responsive but at effective at the end. Because of the busses around the area sometimes the streets get crowded.

Good place for a cheap, comfortable bed, mostly for people that are in Santiago for work and need a budget friendly place

Decent hotel for the price which was a little over RD $1,000 (US $22-$23) per night. Rooms were relatively clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Stayed there in September 2015.
