Great place to eat in Zona Colonial! The food was delicious and full of flavor, and the atmosphere was perfect for enjoying a meal in the historic center of Santo Domingo. Friendly service and a really nice setting. definitely worth a visit.
Found this aweskme place while wondering on zona colonial. The food was delicious, I had the gandules sancocho and it was divine, we also had the pechuga en plancha, sorrullos, and mofongo. The waiter was kind and very attentive. Not too many options on natural juices. Overall good experience for those looking to taste dominican cuisine
I was visiting Santo Domingo for the day and I found Jalao in Google search and what a great surprise. We enjoyed the live music the dance, food was tasty and good quality, about $55cad per 2 including drinks a lemonade and a regular Presidente beer.Service was polite, professional and fast. After the live music band finished we still stay washing some musical on the big screen and enjoying the music. Nice decor and clean. I really recommend this place if you visited Santo Domingo.Seat inside nice AC and great atmosphere 👌 ❤️. Recommend it
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Dominican Experience! I had lunch at Jalao, right on the main square of Santo Domingo, and really enjoyed it. I ordered El Criollito – yellow rice with ribs, sausage, corn, cabbage salad, and red beans. The food was flavorful and felt truly authentic Dominican. I especially liked sitting outside in the shade of a big tree, enjoying the atmosphere of the historic plaza and watching the lively surroundings. Great place for both food and local vibe!
We were told this is one of the top 2 places for local cuisine, and indeed they have a wide variety of dominician dishes. We had the oxtail stew and shrimps over crushed plantaine and chicharones, both are good They also have a kids menu.
