Definite executive/traditional feel/decor. Junior suites are nice and roomy, though 1 definitely had a musty/moldy/humid odor- probably needs a filter change. Wish there were some brighter lighting options. Exec lounge is very spacious and Winston grill was good for dinner. Really good location being part of Blue Mall.
This hotel truly gave me the best “home away from home” experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The service was exceptional and every staff member I encountered was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive to details. Their warmth made my stay even more memorable. The food was consistently delicious, with a variety of options that catered perfectly to my tastes. I’ll especially miss spending time in the elegant lobby and cozy lounge area, which offered the perfect balance of comfort and class. The view from the presidential lounge was absolutely breathtaking, almost heavenly experience that made me pause and take it all in. There’s truly nothing ordinary about this place; everything feels thoughtfully designed and elevated. I loved every moment of my stay and would gladly return to relive this amazing experience.
The hotel staff is the best! Malvin, Angel, Ignacio, Juan, Belkis... the list goes on and on. You feel at home in this place and they make you feel extremely welcome. This has been my go to spot in Sto. Domingo for the last 4 years. Amazing team! Thanks for what you do!
Discriminatory and Unacceptable Service As a Marriott Bonvoy Gold member, I expected professional and respectful service. Instead, from the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome and judged based on our appearance—something I believed luxury hospitality had moved past long ago. The bellboy offered no help and was rude when we tried to stop briefly to unload luggage. Signage to the hotel was unclear, forcing us to ask multiple people for directions. In the lobby, we were not greeted and stood waiting in silence until we asked if we could check in. When I raised these concerns with the shift manager, Felix, the only compensation offered for this series of service failures was a glass of wine, which felt dismissive and inappropriate for a brand like JW Marriott. This was not an isolated issue but a pattern of behavior that made us feel discriminated against because of how we looked, despite our loyalty status. If being treated with dignity and consistency matters to you, I would strongly suggest thinking twice before choosing this property.
We had a great time! The rooms clean. The staff so friendly and accommodating. My daughter had a stomach ache and our waiter Jose asked the chef to prepare a chicken soup so she can feel better.. these are the little gestures that you don’t get at all the hotels.
