I am writing this review as I’m currently sitting having dinner at La Vyuda. I have to say, I am really impressed. The service was like no other restaurant I have visited in Santo Domingo. Our servers, Joan and Andres, really took care of us. Everything we ordered from the menu exceeded expectations and the bartender really knows what he’s doing, cocktails were perfect. In all honesty, I was skeptical coming here with my wife and my sister to celebrate her birthday, as I have read mixed reviews and this, as most high-end restaurants in Santo Domingo has been tagged as “classist” (I myself have had bad experiences in similar restaurants). However, I suggest you visit and be the judge instead of taking someone else’s opinion as a fact, because every experience can be different. Mind you, we came on a Tuesday and the restaurant was PACKED. The DJ was definitely a highlight and it kinda becomes a “party” after 10:00pm ish. Recommendations: Stuffed Pesto Burrata - Mezze Oasta Surf & Turf - Lychee Martini Thank you to La Vyuda team! Will definitely come back ❤️
Let’s start with the front man at the door.. he was not welcoming at all he did not wanted to let us in because we did not had heels on (mind you we had on really nice shoes, not flip flops) he was very rude, we had to wait for manager to let us in, the door man was not happy looking at our attired like we were not well dressed and when entering we saw women in tennis shoes!!! The food was blend, in desperate need of seasoning, some was ok but nothing great, the drinks were good but they can definitely improve on costumer service. The place is nice and the atmosphere was good, but would not recommend or visit again.
Beautiful and elegant restaurant. They are strick with dress codes. Besides that is wonderful.
What a fantastic experience I had in this place, the music band was incredible that night. The food was amazing super delicious and tasty. the service was impeccable, spectacular on point every single time, haven’t had such good service prob anywhere like this. Went out on a night with friends here and I would recommend to anyone. Yes you have to make reservations and I recommend to dress nice and appropriate as this place caters to a well behaved atmosphere. This place inside is beautiful and artistic and everything is nicely set up. The architecture and design makes you feel special.
Three stunning women in GOWNS came to eat for our reservation. We had low, open toe gemmed, sandals on. The door guy said we did not fit the dress code and turned us away. When I asked for a manager the door guy said not to tell us who that is. While we were standing there a man IN JEANS AND SNEAKERS walked right by us with his girl in sandals. When we asked for an explanation. Door guy said “it don’t matter your not getting in and asked us to leave” I asked for the owner and manager and was declined. If I could give the way they treated three elegant women less than a 1… I would!
