Larimar Restaurant in Santo Domingo was a great dining experience. I visited here for my birthday.. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with a nice balance of local charm and modern style. The food was fresh and flavorful, with well-prepared seafood and traditional Dominican touches that really stood out. Service was attentive without being overwhelming, and the staff made good recommendations from the menu. Prices felt fair for the quality and setting, and overall it was a place I’d happily return to or recommend to visitors looking for a good meal in the city.
The decor and ambiance was great! The staff was friendly. The food though was exceptional. We asked for the shrimp tacos but the server in error sent the duck tacos. We were pleasantly pleased and did not complain. We then had the ribeye steak which was enough for two. That steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. 10 out of 10!
We had a great experience we were able to have a waiter who did speak English. The food was so good. I was upset with my ravioli. I wish you had a bigger portion. It was so good.
While visiting the DR with my family, we made reservations at Larimar. The food was “mortal” (to die for)! And, while I understand that some might find the portions a little small, the presentation, quality, and flavor was exceptional! This is an upscale restaurant, so be prepared to pay ~$50 (US) per person. Our waiter, Jesus (a young man from Argentina), was wonderful and friendly. He kept our glasses filled and was very attentive to us. We were even blessed to meet the head chef during our meal. Between the ambience, service, and food, this was a truly wonderful experience.
Such a nice and trendy spot in Santo Domingo! The food was excellent quality, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere really stood out. A GREAT experience overall. Make sure to reserve.
