The place is cheap. I payed like $59 bucks (RD$3,600) for my girl and me but i never ordered food for myself, only drinks. Here comes the bad part. Ordered a Negronni — waiter said he was going to check if he had the ingredients, came back with it and it was awful (they used beefeater as gin). No issue. I like beefeater but by itself, not in a Negronni.. So I then say: charge me the Negronni but take it out of the table because i don’t like it, and the waiter starts challenging me.. like im supposed to like it.. I then say, what other gins you have there and he said tanquerai so i ordered it on the rocks. Easy right? Nope. He brought me on what as a reference i can say was a “small puddle” of gin. Not even enough for my girl to be able to see it when they brought it in the glass. Ended up ordering a diet coke (didn’t even touch the tanquerai). They did take out the negronni from the tab, but still. Terrible service / Low to mid food / Normal to viby music but overall experience was bad.

It was a nice experience, I had a lot of fun. I want to go back there. I invite you to visit Mala Mia.

Okay food and drinks are good but the service are too slow I don’t like that, they are not organized there was some weird local dominican pretending they are rich 😂😂😂 so fun anyway I m enjoy the moment.

The food is awesome! The Mozzarella Tower, Quesadillas, El Dictador and the Chicken fingers looks and tastes great!

After my experience this evening at this restaurant, I understand the reviews other customers posted about supervisor and customer service. I was highly disappointed with my experience this evening. As an American, on vacation, I traveled across town to eat at this restaurant. I came early last year and loved the food and service. However, my experience this evening was the opposite. The greeting my husband and I received by the supervisor (Venezuelan) as we were sat down and given the menu was: “you have to put that away”. I was so confused and in shock by his comment towards us. When asking what he was referring to he pointed at my water bottle. I know every country is different and has their own customs but in the US, having access to drinking water is a basic right and offered without charge at any restaurant. I am aware that DR has their own customs but I have been to over 20 different restaurants in DR and always carry a water bottle with me as I cannot drink regular drinking water. I have never been questioned or much less rudely told to put that away. I proceeded in telling the supervisor I didn’t understand what the problem was because we were going to be ordering drinks along with other food items. If he works in customer service and is lead at the restaurant, the supervisor should know how to speak to people. If he treated a tourist this way, I can’t imagine how he would treat a native. Despite this first negative interaction we decided to stay as we had driven 20 minutes from Piantini to this side of town. The waiter that proceeded to serve us was kind. The main meal was decent. My burger was good. I don’t recommend food items with the white cheese sauce as it’s very bland and thick. Communication regarding food items not available can be improved. After requesting an appetizer, we were then told they were out of 4 different appetizers. We were never asked how the food was or asked if we wanted more drinks. I finished my mojito before my meal came and had intentions of ordering another one, but did not bother to since the waiter never bothered to follow up. The wait to receive our food was extremely long. We arrived at 8:25pm and left the restaurant at 10:00pm. We immediately requested the check after finishing our meal. Despite our experience, we still left a generous tip because our intention was never to be frugal. This restaurant was one of my favorites and unfortunately no longer will be on my “to visit” list when traveling here. I hope that changes are made to improve customer experience.
