As a someone who doesn’t go out clubbing a lot, it’s a great place to hang out with your loved ones and friends in Santo Domingo. This lounge bar has a new concept I’ve never seen anywhere the same , the story is about a girl called Maria… it would be a really good choice if you’re going for a dinner with your Girl. I like the atmosphere, the colors are beautiful and really chic. Easy to reach , good spot, the foods is delicious, the drinks are the other level, excellent , I’ll visit there frequently.
This place has a cool story blending two Dominican public figures together. They both were rejected from Dominican society and now are the icons of this restaurant. Yet, the old tradition of a dress code is reinforced upholding long tradition of classism and judgement the restaurant’s story seems to highlight in the story of the two Marias. I tried to get in with jeans with holes in the knee, a nice blouse, black heels. They wouldn’t let me in. Disappointed. Loved the concept but seems like it was all show.
Very pretty and Instagrammable, but it didn’t live up to the hype. Expected more. Just another spot in the Dominican Republic with too much hype for what it really is.
You can tell when the security doesn’t want you at a location. But when flashy people walk in with designer logos everywhere it’s ok. . Bouncer said I needed a reservation to be there and while I was standing there, several people walked right in without him asking questions I would prefer to myself as being a silent luxury. I don’t have designer brands written all over my clothes, but I do know how to dress professionally this club by far like stereotype people which I think is pretty sad. I’ve been all over the world and I’ve only experienced this two times here in Argentina.
Great spot in Santo Domingo to share drinks and have a good time…the ambiance is very cozy and the cocktails are amazing!…if you’re in Santo Domingo, María & María is a no brainer!
