i just have to say if you are from the United States and expecting to get a Covid-19 test before leaving D R please avoid Meds as much as you can. Their results are not accurate and the simple fact is, they're trying to make you repeat the test so they can squeeze you for more money. Go to a reputable place and the references are in the U S department of States websites. I was duped by them as being positive for COVID-19 because i have a family of 5 tested there, they wanted us to repeat the test in 5 days so we can spend more money. I went to another lab and did the PCR test it came out negative. I can imagine if it was an HIV or paternity test, this is unjust, such a beautiful island and warm people but when it comes to a dollar just be careful about who you're doing business with.
The service from the staff was appalling, excluding the doctor. They forgot to stamp my prescription, so I went there to get help getting it rewritten because the date might affect my appointment for the test, since I had already missed my first appointment. "You have to wait for the manager," the woman told me. "You have to take a seat." But since they were all occupied, I sat in front to wait. But no way, she wasn't even able to help me. I ended up leaving because, frankly, in a place like that, the only thing I want to do is walk away. Ultimately, I was responsible for the receipt not being stamped and for wasting time and money, not to mention that I got up early that day, paid for an Uber to get to Cedisa, and then had to go back home. And that woman didn't even apologize for the inconvenience or say, "Let me see how I can help you." On the contrary, I showed her the prescription, and without my consent, she took it and stamped it as if I were a doll. It's not the patients' responsibility to verify that prescriptions are properly stamped or that the names are correct. All medical centers know that insurance companies don't accept documents with errors or missing stamps, and that responsibility lies with the medical center. Other people's time should be respected because no one knows each person's responsibilities or financial situation, and it's unfair to waste their time and money, especially when they don't receive an apology for poor service.
I had high expectations for this place's service; however, it has been a terrible experience. The WhatsApp service is inefficient; it can take up to eight hours to schedule an appointment, with sporadic messages every one to three hours. One of my most recent experiences was unpleasant: it took two days to schedule a psychology appointment, and the service was neither professional nor friendly. Then, when the day arrived and I went to check in, the agent immediately took my insurance information and told me they didn't cover it, even though the information I received on WhatsApp was different. I explained the situation to the young woman at the counter, and she only defended herself by saying, "It's not us, it's the call center." Shame on her; her duty is to apologize on behalf of the company and the incompetent call center staff. I told her she should report it to them so they could escalate the complaint and ensure the call center provides accurate information, preventing patients from wasting time.
I'm sorry to disagree with many, but I've been there several times with my wife. The first time was to get a COVID-19 medical leave certificate, and the second time was for her to get an injection. On both occasions, the service and attention were quick, despite the crowds that frequent the center because of its location in the Mega Mall. Something worth noting is that my wife's health insurance is the basic plan from Seguro Universal, and even so, she only pays $100 extra for the consultation! Extremely affordable. They don't just offer general medicine; they also have various specialties. I didn't find it to be a bad health center. I've been to other, more renowned and expensive health centers, like Clínica Oriental, and that one is much worse.
This is my first time at this center. Initially, the billing staff was generally efficient, and the doctor who assisted me was very kind and attentive, except for one woman who processed my bill. She seemed to be in a very bad mood that day. I gave her a 500-peso bill so she could charge me 100, and without even looking or asking her colleagues, she told me she didn't have any small change and that I should go find some. I went to another cashier, and they gave me the change right there. In other words, that one person is the bad apple that tarnishes the service. It's this kind of customer service that makes people hesitant to return to the medical center.
