This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had, and I would strongly advise people to think twice before staying here. When we arrived at the hotel, the check-in line was so long that we were forced to wait outside in the heat with our luggage for 45 minutes to an hour because of a large group staying at the hotel. When it finally became our turn, the receptionist handed us a paper and asked where we were on the list — a list belonging to that large group. We explained multiple times that we were not part of that group, yet he continued shouting random names from the list instead of helping us. Only after we expressed frustration did he finally begin checking us in, and even then he struggled to find our reservation and repeatedly questioned when and where we had booked. After all of this, we were given one of the smallest hotel rooms we have ever seen. The safe in the room did not work, there were no power outlets near the bed, and to make matters even worse, the toilet flush was broken. On top of that, the Wi-Fi from the room barely worked at all. The connection was so poor that it was almost impossible to even watch a short video on social media. We went down to reception to report the issue. The receptionist spent 5–10 minutes walking around and speaking Spanish on the phone with different people. We then asked if it was okay for us to go out while someone fixed the toilet, and he assured us: “Yes, no problem, we’ll take care of it.” When we returned later that evening, absolutely nothing had been done. The toilet was still broken. We went back down to reception only to discover that the employee we spoke to had gone home, and the remaining staff member said he had not been informed about the issue at all. In other words, nobody had done anything. After explaining the entire situation again, they finally sent someone to repair the toilet — 20 minutes later. Not only did we waste more time waiting around, but the repair itself took another 30–40 minutes because parts apparently needed replacing. We ended up wasting an entire hour of our evening on something that should have been fixed while we were out. The next morning at 8 AM, a cleaning lady suddenly burst into our room without knocking. She literally opened the door and walked in before immediately leaving again. Completely unacceptable. Shortly after that, an unbelievably loud noise started coming from the bathroom. It sounded like a broken washing machine from the floor above violently shaking inside the walls. Even with the bathroom door closed, the noise was unbearable and made it impossible to sleep. It continued nonstop. To be fair, after we complained to reception the next day, they did move us to a slightly larger room and included complimentary breakfast for the rest of our stay, which was appreciated. However, the Wi-Fi still barely worked in the new room, and in the evenings the room smelled strongly of smoke. Overall, the hotel is poorly managed, disorganized, and not worth the price unless you book one of the larger rooms. Otherwise, I would not recommend staying here.
The location is great, the service provided was pleasant and good. I speak English and I did not feel as though I was annoying anyone with my substandard spanish. However, the hotel requires serious upgrade: The internet (wifi) in 2025 is before Jesus The rooms were kept clean but there needs to be an assessment of the amenities - the fridge was not working properly, the shower is either hot or cold, the standing shower collected water like a bath ( which was very uncomfortable). I saw a roach in my room. The pillows need to be refreshed from time to time. The carpet in the hallways may need to change as it carrys an old smell. The breakfast is predictable- same thing every day. But the fruits were always fresh. With such a great location and workers, this can be a superb experience. I hope effort can be made to make the stay away from home better.
This hotel is ideally located smack in the middle of the colonial district. The rooms are small and I wasn't a fan of the two single beds I got. Also upon arrival there was human hair on both beds and in the bathroom so I'm happy I brought extra towels to put on the pillow to sleep on. The scent in the bathroom intermittently was not pleasant even when you stepped outside of the room. It seem the carpets may need to be deep cleaned. The Cafe for breakfast was ok but often times the table mats weren't properly cleaned so I would opt for them to remove my mat that use it. The hot chocolate was really good but they never offered enough and the breakfast choices was not as well rounded as I think it should have been. The last day I gave up and went to a nearby Cafe. The staff was pleasant and helpful though. Even in the lobby you had attendants wiping around guests I think that should be scheduled for a less trafficking time unless there's an accident. Overall I would probably stay at the hotel again but this time I would bring my own linen and towels and some disinfectant. I just really don't think the place was being cleaned properly.
Hair dryer didn't work, bathtub got stuck had to fix floater. No lights. They came to fix.
Unfortunately my review is about the front desk supervisor dayanelis who was unprofessional and rude. I advise management to send her for a course on customer service. If you don't like people or can't greet people with at least a smile you should not be working the front desk at a hotel.
