Good Church for visiting SAINT ANTHONY DIVINITY

Beautiful church

San Antonio Parish is a Catholic congregation. According to the inscription on the main door, it dates from 1912. It is a very old church, built for the Las Joyas sector of Santiago de los Caballeros, where merchants who bring agricultural products to sell in Santiago would gather. They would take advantage of the opportunity to visit this church while unloading their merchandise, giving thanks to God. It has a wall clock in front and a bell tower that still functions during services. A perimeter fence protects it when it is closed at night by a sacristan. Saint Anthony was a saint of the Franciscan order, or followers of Saint Francis of Assisi, known for his love of neighbor, especially the poor and marginalized, and his love of animals. That is why the poor farmers and vendors would gather there, asking God for good sales of their agricultural products in the markets.
