It is a lovely, vibrant, joyful parish. I was blessed to be there for Palm Sunday Mass. You can feel the Holy Spirit there. The name of the parish is Parroquia Santa Barbara in Samana.

Very nice place, government needs to step up just a little more for their citizens

The Church of Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara Parish) was built in 1756 and served mainly Spanish families who settled here from the Canary Islands. The town and the church were repeatedly attacked and damaged by the British and French...so that it was gradually restored and modified, and it only got its current appearance in the 1970s. Free admission. Pay attention to the opening hours and religious ceremonies.

Beautiful Catholic church! Very well maintained and a striking landmark amidst the contrasting buildings of the area. Its bell towers are particularly noteworthy.

It's a somewhat chaotic city because of the traffic; there isn't much, but it's governed by free will, 🤦🏻‍♂️. There are some colorful colonial-style houses and a beautiful bridge. There's also a cathedral and a wooden church, which is the oldest building in Santa Barbara. This church was built by the first slaves who received their freedom and was the only building that survived a great fire in 1946. Also, in the first few months of each year, humpback whales arrive, and it's the best place in the world to see these cetaceans.
