This is one of the most stylish and charming restaurants in the Colonial Zone (Zona Colonial) of Santo Domingo. The building itself appears to have a great deal of history and character, which adds to the unique atmosphere and makes dining here feel like a special experience. The ambiance is truly outstanding. Surrounded by the beautiful colonial architecture of the neighborhood, the restaurant offers a perfect blend of history, elegance, and a relaxed Caribbean vibe. Whether you visit during the day or in the evening, the setting is absolutely memorable. The food and drinks were equally impressive. The mojito was excellent—refreshing, well balanced, and one of the best I had during my stay. I also tried the coconut shrimp curry, which was delicious. The sweetness of the coconut paired perfectly with the shrimp, creating a rich and flavorful dish that was both comforting and satisfying. Overall, this is a highly recommended restaurant in Santo Domingo's Colonial Zone. With excellent food, great cocktails, and an exceptional atmosphere, it is the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression and is well worth a visit.

I recently went here in may for a drink and a small bite at midday and found it so good that I returned twice for dinner. To start with the restaurant is beautiful, it has a charm of it’s own. The interior makes you feel as if you’re going back in time for a little bit. You can either sit inside or outside on their big terrace where you can enjoy the view watching people walk by. We found the staff to be very attentive. They came by regularly to check on us and to ask if we need anything. Now about the food: this was so good. Portion sizes were just a bit to big for us, but I think that’s a matter of personal taste. The flavours were impeccable. Juicy, very well seasoned. I liked the fact that they have platters that are based on the culture. My absolute favourite was the goat meat and the aubergine. The drinks here are also very good, specifically the el capitan cocktail. We also had the morir soñando, the popular creamy dominican drink. This was so refreshing. I would higly recommend this place as it turned out to be my favourite restaurant in Santo Domingo. As a plus it’s situated in an area where you can have a nice stroll through zona Colonial after having dinner. The prices here are a tad higher here but you get what you pay for. Amazing.

The food was absolutely delicious! We tried the crab salad and chicken rolls. Pistachio cake dessert was top notch as well. The pineapple juice, unfortunately was watered down, so I didn’t enjoy drinking it. Service could be better and more attentive. Be ready for the waiters to ask for additional personal tip even though 10% automatically included into the check. They also get upset if you don’t add anything which is kinda uncomfortable though ‘completely optional’ 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nice place, the food is nice but a little bit pricey compared to other place

I went to this location last week to celebrate my anniversary. I made a reservation but honestly it wasn’t necessary at the end. You can surely walk up and find a table. The location is very beautiful and historic. It’s a location with a story and for history lovers learning about the origin will be delightful. Everyone was kind and courteous. My biggest problem was how inattentive our waiter was. We kept having to ask other folks to get him or to bring the things that we had asked from him because he literally didn’t check on us. And, when he closed our tab I told him what to put for tip and he ended up putting another amount at the end which was higher of course. I honestly just left it like at because at that point the service had been so slow we just wanted to leave. The food was good. My husband enjoyed his coconut shrimp and I thought my bolognese pasta was okay. I wouldn’t come back to this location but it was an ok one time experience.
