The best barbershop for kids
My son's favorite place to get his hair cut! The staff at Pelukids Sarasota are incredibly patient and know how to handle fussy children. The stroller chairs and screens with his favorite cartoon characters make the experience super fun. 10/10 for service and customer care!
I'd heard wonderful things about this hair salon, so I traveled all the way there, no matter how far I lived, to take my one-year-old son (making an appointment, of course). When I arrived, it was like nobody was there. Then one of the stylists finally finished (the owner just told me, "So-and-so will take care of you"). My first thought was that she was going to lunch. But no, about half an hour passed, and I asked her if she wasn't going to work, since I'd come to get her. Her response was that I should have told her, that she leaves new clients to the other girl, and that it wasn't my second time there. She said she was waiting for a client. Right then and there, she told me to sit him down, put him on the cart, and told her it was a clipper cut. I explained how I wanted the cut: not to cut the top and not to add bangs. What do you think happened? She said she was going to cut a little bit on top, but she cut it all off. And as for the bangs, I got out of the car to get something, and in less than a second, one side was done. IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I COULD HAVE HAD WITH A ONE-YEAR-OLD BABY. Disorganization, bad attitude, zero professionalism, and terrible service. Without exaggeration, the worst experience I've ever had with my son.
I've taken my son there several times; the service is excellent and the staff are very helpful, especially Mery. The price for a haircut is $700. An appointment is recommended.
Greetings. Since you blocked me on Instagram for simply expressing what happened, I'm leaving it here! I'm not doing this to cause conflict, but because I think it's wrong of you to block me and delete negative comments. We must accept all kinds of criticism, regarding the poor treatment I received today at your salon, where I took my son to get his hair styled. From the moment we arrived, the treatment was distant and uncomfortable, both towards me and my children. What was most concerning was noticing preferential treatment for another client who arrived later, who was attended to without any problem, while my daughters were denied service without any clear justification. I completely understand that you work by appointment, but that doesn't justify a disrespectful attitude, much less the tone in which we were spoken to, especially considering we were children and that I'm paying for a service with my own money, just like any other client. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth to perceive a possible classist or discriminatory treatment, whether due to appearance, skin tone, or social prejudice. I hope I'm wrong, but the difference in treatment was obvious. This kind of experience not only disappoints me as a mother, but also as a customer. I believe that every customer deserves respect, and even more so children, who should feel comfortable and welcome in any service environment. I would appreciate it if you would take this complaint seriously. The least I expect is some reflection from the staff and an improvement in the quality of service they provide.
