A Truly Disappointing and Unsafe Experience at Pica Pollo Rodríguez in La Romana I was excited to try Pica Pollo Rodríguez, given its local reputation, but my experience was nothing short of alarming. The fried chicken was served cold, undercooked, and with red, raw meat inside—a clear health hazard. Hoping it was a one-time mistake, I brought it to their attention. However, the replacement chicken was just as poorly cooked, leaving me deeply concerned about their food preparation standards. This is not just a matter of poor taste or quality; it’s a significant public health issue. Serving undercooked chicken not only shows a lack of professionalism but also endangers the health of customers. The staff’s response to my concerns was indifferent, and there was no indication that they understood the gravity of the situation. Given the repeated issues and the potential risks to other diners, I strongly urge local health authorities to investigate this establishment. Proper food handling and preparation are non-negotiable, and Pica Pollo Rodríguez is failing to meet even the most basic standards. For your safety, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Until proper measures are taken to address these serious concerns, I advise diners to seek safer and more reliable options elsewhere in La Romana. Your health is not worth the risk.
This is a La Romana staple. It is actually a food chain in the area. They mainly serve fried chicken and fries but have a few more things on their menu like pastas, rices, viandas and other ethnic dishes. The prices are low to moderate and though sometimes the food is cold since it sits buffet style, it is for the most part quite edible. You basically order at a counter from what you see, pay the cashier and take it to your table or home.
Fast service, one of the best pica pollo places in town, if not the best.
