Hidden gem in colonial zone! We found this place so randomly and were amazed by the serene back garden and the beautiful local artwork.While enjoying a local dessert.

Underated place. Lovely backyard after you view the historical building and painting. Low price of cafe menu considering this is still part of colonial area.

Beautiful colonial patio in the middle of everything. The original character of the place is very well-preserved. The quality of the food is amazing, prices are absolutely reasonable, and the service is excellent. Additionally, a museum located at the entrance showcases stunning Dominican art. Take some time to look at those art pieces and you won't regret. Definitely, I would love to come back someday!

On our last day in the Dominican Republic; we came upon this hidden gem. I was lacking two essentials to take the greatest advantage of both the shop and the courtyard---my wallet and my camera. There were several small pieces of art work in the gallery that caught my attention, and the lush little court yard was the perfect place to cool off while watching some colorful birds. Wlill stop longer and better prepared next time. But this time I did have enough to have a cold drink and made my cell phone suffice for photo taking.

La Quinta is a combo of historic site + cultural center + café. I mainly visit for the rotating expositions and the atmosphere, the café menu is not very big. They do however have a very nice selection of craft beers. I'm not a huge fan of the finger foods like empanadas since they are baked, not fried (personal preference). The garden is a very nice, fresh and shaded place where you can get a coffee after lunch during the midday heat lull. It is also absolutely GORGEOUS at night, I love coming for exposition openings at this time.
