Excellent service. Both ladies were extremely nice and professional. The app for getting the results is also great. I’m impressed!
Very Dangerous “lab”. Last night, I took my three-day old baby to get some tests run. We called their offices and they assured us that they would perform these tests. When we arrived at this lab, the secretary was reluctant to assist us. She said she had to wait for permission in order to sell us the service. About 30 minutes later, the secretary sold us the service and sent me over with my baby to the “doctor”. This Doctor, named Gabriela (they refused to give me her last name), tried to run the blood tests on the baby. After taking blood samples and right in front of me, she took photos of the blood samples and sent it over via WhatsApp to somebody. The person on WhatsApp, a lady, replied with a voice note, which I heard. The lady on the phone said “no, that’s not how you take those samples. You have to do it again” and gave her specific instructions on how to do so. When I realized what was going on, that I wasn’t be treated by a real doctor but rather a secretary of some sort, I point-blank asked her “you haven’t done this before, right?”, to which she lowered her face and did not reply. I got my baby out of her office and went back to the lobby to ask what was going on and for the “doctor’s” name. The secretary didn’t excuse herself or the lab, just said that she didn’t know the “doctor’s” last name nor had it on file (which is incredibly odd). I also asked to be refunded for the service that was not provide and she stated that she would “look into it”. As of now, I have not been refunded. Please note that this is an almost 200usd test. In Dominican Republic, by law, every commercial establishment has a legal obligation to provide with the Proconsumidor Book Log if you request it so that you can make a formal complaint, which the government reviews. I was denied access to this book for the first 20 minutes. They said they did not have it (which is illegal) and that I should provide an internal complain to this lab instead. After informing them that I would take legal actions against them if the book was not provided, it magically appeared. It is incredibly dangerous and reckless that a medical lab would hire nonprofessionals to work with people, especially infants. It is not excusable, and I believe it should be punished by law the fact that the have unqualified / untrained “doctors” taking blood sample and harming babies and people in general. If you value your safety and health, I’d recommend staying away from this lab.
I've had to use their services on multiple occasions. Staff is always nice although lines can get really slow if there is an issue with a client's health insurance. Once you're past that though, everything is quick. They are 24/7 so I recommend going later at night when the lab is empty.
Overall good experience. I don't speak much Spanish, but there was a nurse at the front desk who spoke English. Waited for 5 minutes or less, went in to get my PCR test, and out the door in a matter of minutes. They give you a sheet with log-in info to access your results later. Got mine same day in about 8 hours. Fantastic location by the airport and in a well-developed area. Felt very secure plus a parking lot in the back.
I'm a tourist and I need to do the Covid19 PCR test to enter my country. On a quick Google search, Laboratorio Referencia appeared first, and for good. The service is great from start to finish. I paid extra to get the results in 24 working hours and the promise was fulfilled. I did the test at 9:30 and got the results online before 16:00. I can recommend, as I would use this service again.
