We had a wonderful experience at Grazie Restaurant at Royalton Punta Cana! From the moment we sat down, the service was outstanding—Angel, our server, was friendly, attentive, and truly made us feel welcome. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our family. The food was classic, simple Italian cuisine done really well. Every dish was flavorful and comforting, and the biggest win of the night was that my very picky 7-year-old son actually cleaned his plate! That alone says a lot about how good the food was. The only small downside was the pizza—the dough wasn’t quite as great as we expected. However, everything else more than made up for it. Overall, a fantastic dining experience with great service and delicious food. We would definitely come back!
My partner and I stayed at The Royalton Punta Cana and we had an amazing week! The staff at the buffet were super friendly and recognised us and remembered our drink orders. The daily activities from the Vibe Team were so fun! We met lots of the team from taking part in Volleyball ball and merengue and salsa dance lessons. We got to know Andy from the Vibe Team in particular as he checked in on us everyday and always made sure we had a great time during the day and danced with us during the night time entertainment, which was so much fun! The resort and entertainment is perfect for couples and we cannot wait to come again and definitely recommend you go see for yourself. We loved it!
Stayed in a Diamond Club Swim Out January 2026 travelling with another family. Rooms and grounds were clean and well kept and the beach was as fun as it was picturesque. Butler service is extremely helpful. Our butler Jairon made sure we were informed on what’s going on and looked after us from securing dinner reservations during our stay, addressing any issues, and hooked us up with Santa (She was awesome) to get a great excursion for our families to enjoy during our stay. Yovanny was such a happy jolly helpful soul in the Diamond Beach area. Antony (Speedy) by the main pool was fantastic (we ended up naming a drink after him). Andy we saw in all areas of the resort and you couldn’t help but be happy and smile with his infectious smile and joyful to help attitude. Entertainment was enjoyable and the water slides at splash were close by and a lot of fun without being very crowded at all.
We enjoyed eating at Bella Cucina. Sorainny and Alfredito were very kind and the chef accommodated our shellfish allergy. The pizza was very good! We also loved under the sea, the manager was amazing to us and took care of us. Our favorite restaurant was Hunter steak house, which we went to twice. The hostess Mildred was amazing and made sure we were taken care of. Perla and Jose were our servers and they made sure we got everything to our liking and Fernando the manager made sure food was cooked separately to prevent contamination. It was a great experience. Shoutout to our Amazing butler Reinaldo for getting us the reservations and making sure the restaurants knew about our allergies!
For us, this wasn’t a great adults-only experience, but it would definitely suit families—especially those where adults want a lively atmosphere while children are fully entertained. If you’re someone who enjoys quiet time, a place to play pool or darts, or simply have a glass of wine while playing board games without children around, this resort may not be for you either. We enjoy music and dancing—my husband is actually a DJ—and we’re British Caribbean, so lively environments are not an issue for us. However, we still like the choice to dip in and out of a busy, high-energy hotel scene and have alternative things to do besides just sitting and drinking. Unfortunately, the Hideaway’s constant loud music wasn’t relaxing. When we think of an adults-only “Hideaway,” we imagine peace, relaxation, low background music, maybe a massage by the pool, with louder entertainment happening elsewhere. It felt like this balance was missing, and that not everyone holidays in the same way had been overlooked. Other points worth noting: Staff: Mixed experiences. Some were friendly and helpful (especially in the main food hall), while others made us feel uncomfortable for simple requests like asking for water. Communication at the Hideaway lobby was sometimes difficult due to language barriers. Sometimes we would be ignored at the bar whilst other ethnicities were served before us. No welcome pack: None provided in the room, so we had to work everything out ourselves. This may be challenging for less experienced travellers. Rooms: Spacious, clean, and comfortable, but could benefit from updates (especially bathroom tiling and paint). Housekeeping: Cleaners occasionally knocked and entered at the same time without waiting for a response, which happened more than once. Rooms were cleaned well and fridge stocked daily. Food: A good variety every day, with clear effort from the chefs to cater to different cultures. Entertainment: Nightly entertainment was available, but music was extremely loud and ran from late afternoon until 11pm, making it hard to relax or nap. Restaurant reservations: The hotel app was frustrating. Many restaurants showed no availability despite appearing empty, and dinner times were often very late (8:45–9:45pm). Complaints were raised but not resolved. Overall, the hotel has potential and would suit guests looking for a lively, social atmosphere. However, for those expecting a calmer adults-only retreat with choice and flexibility, it may fall short. Checkout experience: At checkout in the Hideaway lobby, we were handed a form to complete, given a paper slip, and our wristbands were cut without any explanation. When we asked if everything was complete, we were told yes and staff immediately returned to work. We then had to ask basic questions ourselves, such as whether someone would collect our bags (we were on the top floor with no lift), where to wait, and what the paper slip was for. There was no “how was your stay,” “thank you,” or “safe travels,” which made the departure feel abrupt and imperson. Safe to say we would not come back!
