The grounds are beautiful & lush, the air conditioned rooms are comfortable & spread out with intertwining paths between the trees, buildings, lounging pool & multiple sitting areas, AND the vibrant host went above & beyond to help us with every aspect of our stay in the city! Will definitely be back to this hidden gem in the historical cigar capital, located within moments of downtown Santiago 💖
Very attentive staff, very friendly people. My only complaint was the inclusion of water bottles in the room and the door not closing properly. Otherwise, everything was fine. The place is very private and classic. Perfect for those who love silence and peace. Getting there is a bit of a challenge, but it's very safe. I would give it a higher rating if it weren't for those two issues.
Come ready to unplug. This is the perfect place to disconnect from noise and stress. Bring a book, journal, or just enjoy the calm of nature. Pack light, breathable clothing. The garden setting and warm Caribbean climate mean you’ll want comfortable clothes, sandals, and maybe a light cover-up for evenings. Don’t skip the garden time. Wake up early or stay out late to truly enjoy the serenity—it’s especially magical in the morning and at sunset. Have transportation arranged. While the location is peaceful and private, having a car or pre-arranged taxi makes getting around Tamboril and Santiago much easier. Support local spots nearby. Ask the hosts for recommendations—there are great local eateries and hidden gems in the area that tourists often miss. Perfect for couples & solo travelers. If you’re looking for nightlife or loud entertainment, this may not be the place—but if you want peace, reflection, or romance, you’ll love it. Communicate your needs early. The hosts are very attentive—letting them know your plans or preferences helps them make your stay even better
Such a nice experience! Quiet, cozy, and far from the city. Thanks for having us.
One of the highlights of my visit to DR - massive, whimsical, comfortable, with pretty good facilities. If it wasn't for the moderate noise from a nearby road, it would truly be a paradise. Wi-fi only works at the 'main' house and they must come up with a more practical way for people without local sim card to enter without having to make an expensive roaming call.
