We wanted to try this restaurant for breakfast as it is in our neighbourhood. First question at 9:45am at the door: do you have a reservation? Then we entered and wanted to sit on a table with a bench: sorry reserved. 15 minutes later a family came and I hear the waiter saying : you can sit wherever you want and they chose the 'reserved' table. The breakfast we ordered took forever. When I asked if they have forgotten our order the waiter replies: sorry there are some orders before us so it will take another 5-10minutes (our simple order: pancake and granola). Food quality was good. For my daughter they brought imported water from Italy... (no comment). All in all this restaurant is for the 'show off' Dominican society. Princes and Princesses try to show their make up and clothes behaving they are better than others. Even if you park your fancy car outside - sorry still not impressed its rather ridiculous. I will choose next time a place with no 'show off' people. The food we liked. It had a good taste.
The typical restaurant that is mostly and more about looks and vibes, atmosphere, and less about - to the extent of my experience - about taste, quality of food, portion size vs price, drinks prices and so on. Their best work is all in the quality of the service and their attitude towards the consumer. One thing I would point out is that, some of them, where not familiar with their pricing and I had to be extra specific about my question more than two times. It is a rather costly restaurant for the quality I perceived and others last night. I wouldn't necessarily say it is a bad restaurant, but not a place I would go back to. I ordered a steak no sauce nothing extra and it was tough to cut through, burnt in the outside / too seared, and I still was hungry. Also, they do not put the size or weight of their plate, which can be misleading for consumers. For instance, they advertise live music and yet there were not live music being played that exact night. My number one suggestion for them would be to focus on the quality and quantity of the food to the price they have vs others so great restaurants in Santo Domingo that I know. The moment I went in I had the thought of damn this is like those typical restaurants that focus too much on the Instagram-able aspect of the place rather than the quality of their overall experience. On a good note, they do have service to guide / easy your parking to the restaurant (in the street) so not so many parking spaces but St least they help.
I saw this restaurant on social media & I saved it for my next trip to DR. I went here in an afternoon for snacks and drinks with my sister. I love the decor, the service & the food. The only comment I would say it’s that if you are not a family/kids person this restaurant during the afternoon hours it’s not for you. It can be a little noisy since kids are playing and adults are having conversations. But for me, I loved it; I had an amazing conversation with my sister, we talked about things you can’t usually do in front of family, and this was our special date. She had a nice time & I did as well. Definitely will come back.
The atmosphere was quite agreeable, and the service provided was truly commendable. Although the food was satisfactory, it did not quite reach the exceptional level I have experienced elsewhere, and considering the cost, it felt somewhat overpriced. However, the beverages were thoroughly enjoyable. Regrettably, the dessert options were rather limited, leading us to decide against ordering any.
