My friend Frank brought me to this beautiful cigar shop. Unlike any other cigar lounge or shop I had been to previously. I received a personal and thorough lesson on the cigars... from planting to properly lighting and smoking. Aram was truly an attentive and engaging instructor. I plan to return whenever I am in Punta Cana!
I had an amazing time at Secretariart. Remember to call 1st schedule your arrival time and get ready for a great introduction to some wonderful Dominican Cigars and extraordinary coffee experience. (Yes they have Rum but you wont miss it!) Aaron guides you down a comprehensive supply chain of from the roots to the leafs to the process of picking, storingand then rolling types, and the to a "Brother/Sister of the Leaf" hands, Lips and Nose. When here in the DR this is and will always be a must do. Enjoy!
I had a great experience at Secretariat cigar shop. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, and the shop is very clean and well organized. Aram is friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to help me choose the perfect cigar. He is an excellent selection of high-quality cigars for both beginners and experienced smokers. I really appreciated the great customer service and attention to detail. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a great cigar experience Thanks Aram🦋🦋
A Hidden Gem for Cigar Enthusiasts in Punta Cana My afternoon at Secretariat Cigar in Punta Cana wasn’t just a cigar run—it was a masterclass in hospitality and tobacco expertise, and easily one of the highlights of my trip. From the moment I stepped through the door, the warm, wood-scented ambiance wrapped around me, and the owner’s genuine smile made me feel like a long-time regular rather than a tourist. I’d gone in with only a casual interest in cigars, but the owner’s depth of knowledge turned my visit into an education. They walked me through their curated selection with patience, breaking down regional blends, aging processes, and flavor profiles without a hint of pretension. I settled on a medium-bodied Dominican cigar, and they even took the time to properly cut and light it for me, sharing tips on how to savor each draw. The cigar itself was smooth, with notes of cedar and a subtle honeyed sweetness that lingered perfectly on the palate, and I enjoyed it while chatting with the owner about local tobacco traditions and their passion for the craft. The shop’s attention to detail—from the well-organized humidor to the cozy seating area—set it apart from any generic tobacco store. For anyone visiting Punta Cana, whether you’re a seasoned aficionado or a curious newbie, this shop is non-negotiable. It’s not just a place to buy a cigar; it’s a spot to connect with someone who loves the craft as much as they love making guests feel welcome. Don’t leave Punta Cana without stopping by—you’ll leave with a great smoke and even better memories.
To all my Brothers and Sisters of the Leaf (BOTL and SOTL), I wanted to share details about a very enjoyable experience I had while planning my trip to the Dominican Republic. I was searching for a great place to smoke a cigar and came across Secretariat Cigars, which had incredible reviews. I had to see it for myself. Bert and Aram are true gentlemen and knowledgeable cigar aficionados. As someone who has been smoking for over 20 years, I thought I knew it all, but they certainly taught me several new things. Bert is especially knowledgeable; he calls himself a cigar snob, but I consider him legendary—a true cigar genius. I promise you will not regret visiting this shop. I enjoyed the experience so much that I went there twice during my seven day stay in DR. I highly recommend it. Enjoy! Peter
