Not accessible unless if you live in the resort. Tourist trap to charge you for taxi rides
All the same stuff at every store and very high prices and high pressure sales.
We visited a few shops here and everyone was so nice and helpful. Especually, Josef thank you
I went to the shops with a single goal. Find some raw uncut amber. Every other shop I'd been to had necklaces, but not the raw stone. The first shop I went in out there had 3, I'm pretty sure that they were for display purposes only, but I walked out with two of them and a pair of shoes for my wife. Tips for anyone going there. 1. Bring US Dollars. Cash is king. 2. They give you a price. Half it. They haggle. You aren't going to get it for half, but you can usually get these shop owners or any shop in the area so come down on their first offer by 40%. 3. You don't like the deal? Don't be afraid to walk away. The likelihood of finding the exact same thing somewhere else is pretty high. Also it's likely that the shop owner will call you back into the store to make a sale vs giving the sale to another shop. 4. These shop owners pay a premium for their shops on resort property. There are a BUNCH of shops down the beach. Walk to the beach, hang a right, walk alittle ways, there's a bunch of shacks along the beach a ways down. And even more behind those. These people and much lower on prices. 5. Do NOT take the basket. It's a trap. One price for everything. Everything is 25% off. Everything is always 25% off. And one price for everything is how they get you to pay more. Go in looking for one thing. Get that price. Haggle the price down on that one thing. And then if you want 6 more, haggle down the total of all of those again. They'll usually go down for a bundle deal. But by not throwing everything in the basket at once, you out the ball in your own court. 6. All else fails, speak German. A lot of people working in these shops are trilingual, English, Spanish, and French. I didn't find a single shop owner that knew German. Just shrug as if you don't understand what they're saying and walk off.
This area is ok, i didnt go in any of the shops, only to use the Atm. There is a few souviner shops, a cigar shop, and a few desks to book excursions with companys like runners adventure. I didnt really like going here because the shop owners are a little pushy to get you to go in their stores, but i guess thats how they sell things, and if you say no a few times they leave you alone.
