Super overrated. Staff seemed disinterested, and our drinks seemed a bit too sweet, so we checked the receipt and they charged us for (and presumably made) something COMPLETELY different from what we ordered. Smoke detector beeping the whole time. Menu is different from what's shown in some of the images uploaded here.

Better than Paris! Mejor que Paris! I love how delicate everything was. Amazing flaky croissants with a great texture in the inside. I had the chocolate bread. The texture is a little bit less flaky than a croissant, but very similar and delicious and warm. The filling is a dark chocolate, but not bitter. The almond croissant is flaky on the outside, a gooey rich in the middle. The ham and cheese croissant was my favorite. The ham was fresh. The portions were substantial. In the Dominican Republic pastry portions tend to be small but these are full size croissants. Sustainable. The bag is delivered in is white and reusable. Feels like a traditional rice bag, very nostalgic. The hot chocolate was creamy. I like that they have milk options. I had mine with pistachio milk making it rich. 12 ounces. Sofietje breakfast / brunch was the best I had in a foodie stay in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I used the Uber App to order and I received the food at the perfect temperature with care thanks to their packaging. Enjoy!

Great service. They heated up the breads. Calm ambience perfect for catching up with some friends or reading.

Sofietje is the neighbourhood café that I have been looking for. Since the cafe’s name seems definitely from another world, this is quietly enjoyable because I am a foreigner too. This cosy cafeteria welcomed us with warm services and great coffee. The coffee is on point, as are the irresistible housemade pastries. Great Saturday morning, indeed.

I have not been there yet but I have ordered from the place several times. The products they offer have a very high quality and are very delicious. I have had their pastry with spinach, it was very tasty and the pastry was crunchy and delicate. Their caramel muffin was wonderful as it was not very sweet but it was filled inside full of delicious caramel. Meanwhile their ice-cream products are quite good. I had their strawberry icecream which had a nice natural strawberry flavour but was low on sugar eventhough it had a water base. Quite frankly a great breakfast and snack option but I would recomend to expand their lunch and dinner menu.
