We booked this excursion expecting a relaxing day on Saona Island, but the experience was very disappointing due to serious organizational and safety issues. We were told to arrive at 9:30 AM. Upon arrival, there were seven boats with lines of more than 80 people each and no clear signage. No one could tell us which boat we were assigned to. After asking several people, we finally found the correct representative. We were then told departure would be at 10:10 AM, but the boat actually left at 11:15 AM, with no explanation. Because of this delay, our time on Saona Island was reduced. When we arrived, lunch was not ready, which caused additional waiting. The food that was eventually served was of questionable quality and did not appear fresh. I personally became ill after eating. The return was chaotic and concerning. Passengers from three different speedboats were transferred onto the same catamaran, which became overcrowded. The crew appeared inexperienced during the maneuvers, and the speedboats had to attempt docking multiple times. Several passengers nearly fell during these transfers, creating an unsafe situation. The return trip lasted over 1.5 hours and included unnecessary stops in open water to offload passengers onto additional speedboats before finally reaching the dock. Saona Island is beautiful, but this excursion does not reflect the quality or safety one would expect. We had to book another tour with a different operator to actually enjoy the island. I would not recommend this operator.

This was my second time booking a private Saona Island tour with Sol Cana Tours, and once again, they exceeded expectations! The team is incredibly friendly, professional, and truly makes you feel like royalty from start to finish. We also used them for airport transfers both ways—everything was seamless, and communication through WhatsApp was quick and easy. I still had their contact info from my previous trip, and I’m so glad I reached out again. Highly recommend Sol Cana Tours for anyone visiting the area!

We booked through Hello Tickets (owned by Viator) because we thought they were a top ranked company only to find out they are horribly organized and poor communication. We booked thinking we were getting picked up at our hotel, we found out after booking that it didn’t include our resort even though the confirmation stated pick up at our resort. We had to pay an additional $120 to get to the tour. We were then told after we arrived that they were waiting for another group to go with our group. Was told 5 more minutes. That turned into over an hour. We lost that time on the tour. Once we got on the speed boat, the tour was fine. There are so many other companies we should’ve went with. Next time we’ll book through our resort.

Sol Cana Tours served us with airport transfers from/to PUJ from/to Dreams Palm Beach in Cabeza de Toro. They also took us to an buggie excursion which was fun. They are punctual and ready to help and communicate via Whatsapp (I highly recommend you download it prior to visiting the DR). Thank you Antonio Guerrero for your professionalism and hospitality. We booked an excursion to Saona from Bayahibe with them kind of last minute the day before we went. They have a good website and Paypal payment. I received the ticket and the confirmation right away. It was the perfect day/excursion!! The driver was super punctual and it was a short drive to the boats. The organisation was very good and both boat crews very funny and friendly. I would absolutely reccommend to go to Saona and with Sol Cana Tours we had a fantastic experience! Familia a la proxima.
