This experience, which should have been a highlight of our trip, turned into a traumatic event due to the gross negligence and unprofessional conduct of your staff. Key Facts of the Incident: * Lack of Experience & Preparation: Both my girlfriend and I had zero experience with horse riding. Despite this, the staff rushed us onto the horses without proper instruction or ensuring that the equipment was safe. Specifically, the stirrup lengths were not properly adjusted for my girlfriend, providing no support for her legs. * Reckless Endangerment: During the trip, our guide rushed us and forced the horses into a gallop. As inexperienced riders, this caused immediate and severe pain to my girlfriend's feet and lower legs as they repeatedly crashed against the unadjusted stirrups. * Ignored Safety Warnings: My girlfriend explicitly informed the guide that she was in pain. This warning was completely ignored. * Malicious Acceleration: Most distressingly, when she asked the guide to slow down, the guide did the exact opposite—he accelerated the pace, forcing the horse to run faster, which significantly worsened her injuries. The Consequences: * Physical Injury: My girlfriend sustained severe friction burns and torn skin ("flesh torn") on her lower legs. * Loss of Enjoyment: We have been forced to cancel all our swimming plans for the remainder of our vacation because her open wounds cannot be exposed to water. * Property Issues: Due to the extreme pain, she lost her sunglasses during the ride. While we understand they were recovered on Friday, they have not yet been returned to us.
This was our favorite excursion in PC! The staff are funny, friendly, knowledgeable, and comfortable on horses. They provide instructions on mounting and dismounting your horse each step of the way. Our guide, Michael Angelo, also provided some information about polo when we passed the polo fields. Swimming with the horses was truly magical. I wish I could do it again! The ride through the jungle was mostly shaded, which was great. Be sure to bring a towel to put over your saddle if you're wearing shorts or a bathing suit. They have free lockers to put your bags.
It was a great excursion. The ride wasn't quite as scenic as I was hoping for, but still pretty good. The ride on the beach was pretty short, The ride around a polo field was kinda weird, as was the ride through some vacant construction site. Nothing bad, just a little less than expected. Swimming with the horses was amazing, but also not what I was expecting. I got the impression from the advertisement material that we would ride the horses out into the water ourselves. That's not the case. You dismount your horses and guides take you down to a beach where they bring different horses into the water and they take you in a circle 3 times. It's really fun, but not what I was expecting.
Had an incredible experience at Swim Horse Punta Cana! The transportation to and from the facility was punctual and very clean, and our driver Manuel was extremely friendly and welcoming. Our guides, Felix and Alex, were super nice and knowledgeable—sharing insights into how the horses are trained and how only a few make the cut. You could really feel their passion for Polo and the horses. The Polo Club takes great pride in their stables and the care they provide for the animals. It was clear the horses are well-loved and treated with respect. Highly recommend this unique and memorable experience!
Swim Horse was AMAZING! Out of all the activities we did in Punta Cana, this was our absolute favorite. The tour guide was amazing (I believe his name was Josh), the group of people we went with were also so fun. Everyone there is super helpful, and swimming was a blast. The photographer, Cappuccino, would meet us at checkpoints to take our photos. The photos were amazing quality, and we got every single one of the photos for $40 a person. Most places charge $40 for one photo, but we got all of them for that price! BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! It is definitely a favorite memory now.
