Went to the St Regis with my wife for our babymoon - thinking where better to stay then the St Regis. Unfortunately that couldn't be further from the truth. We had the worst experience. THIS IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE! STAY AWAY! We paid to have a room with the swim out pool and couldn't even enjoy it since our neighbor was smoking illegal substances and they wouldn't do anything about it.. They would set the smoke alarm off at all hours of the night, we would try to call the front desk to ask them what was happening and they wouldn't even answer us (imagine how that feels being in a foreign country - alarms going off - and you can't even get in touch with anyone at the front desk) AND the sound was SOO loud my wife who is 7 months pregnant kept waking up in a scare and then we wouldn't even sleep because we knew in a few min it would go off again. The manager of the hotel told us he would fix it and get back to us and if we did not reach back out he would have never gotten back to us. This hotel is extremely poorly run - I have had better service at 3 star hotels. O - and the restaurant food is terrible, pretty much half of what we ordered we couldn't even eat. Go to the Eden Roc - much better facility, service and food. Stay as far away as you can.
This property appears to still be working through some growing pains. While the grounds and rooms are undeniably beautiful, the overall service and housekeeping fall short of the level one expects from a St. Regis. Upon arrival, our room was not ready, so we waited at the Cielo Bar. Unfortunately, the experience there set the tone — we had to retrieve our own menu and then waited an additional 15–20 minutes before anyone took our order. Notably, the bar was not busy at the time, which made the delay more surprising. There were, however, bright spots. David from Costa Rica provided truly standout service — warm, attentive, and professional. He embodied the hospitality standards associated with the brand. Beach and pool service was also consistently attentive and well executed. Nina Restaurant offered good food, but service was again quite slow. We observed tables leave due to the delays in receiving their meals, which was disappointing to see. The beach itself is stunning and a clear highlight of the property. However, once in the water, the shoreline becomes quite rocky. Water shoes are strongly recommended. Pools are amazing. This was our fourth St. Regis stay, and while the physical property is gorgeous and full of potential, the service experience does not yet align with the brand’s usual standards. With improved consistency and attention to service execution, this resort could truly become exceptional.
We just returned from 5 days at The St. Regis Cap Cana with our 16-month-old, and overall it was a really lovely stay. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, and our room was beautiful with a great view - such a treat to wake up to each morning (even with a toddler up early!). Our butler, Elevis, made a huge difference in our experience. He was so kind and helpful, making sure our baby’s bottles (they sterilize!) were cleaned each day and that the fridge was always stocked with milk. Traveling with a little one can be a lot, and he made it feel easy. Dining overall was very good. The team at Marola - for both lunch and dinner - was especially warm and welcoming to us and our baby. Benjamin stood out and always made sure we were taken care of. We had a nice early dinner at Nina one night with good food and a great setting. Our only hiccup was dinner at Cassava (which also serves breakfast), where service was quite slow - it was Super Bowl Sunday, so that may have played a role. It was the only night that felt a bit off. Aside from that, the trip was wonderful. Not exactly relaxing with a 16-month-old in tow, but truly special - and we hope to be back soon!
We were at the Cigar Room at the San Reyes Hotel, enjoying some cigars. The hotel is very beautiful, the facilities are very nice, but the service and the staff leave a lot to be desired. We ordered a mezcal margarita. They served it in the wrong type of glass — in a small dessert glass. On top of that, it was only the sour mix or lime juice. It had absolutely no mezcal at all. When we asked the bartender about it, he simply said, “I put it in the glass,” even though three of us at the table checked it and there was clearly no alcohol. They didn’t bother to double-check it, verify it, or try to find any way to fix it or make things right for us as customers. Honestly, the hotel is beautiful and has a lot of potential, but it definitely needs improvement when it comes to service. We also ordered some cigars and asked for a cigar punch, and they didn’t have one available either. That’s a minor detail, but regarding the drinks, they should really hire more professional and better-trained staff, especially with a true sense of customer service. We pay the price they charge, and the least we expect is that our money is respected and that the quality the brand is known for is delivered. We honestly felt a bit disappointed
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the St. Regis Cap Cana. From the moment we arrived with those lovely, refreshing welcome drinks, we felt so welcomed. The property is gorgeous, and the constant, beautiful ocean view from our room was a highlight we'll always cherish. The service was impeccable, Jisselle and Elisabeth were our butlers. We spent our days lounging by the pool and the beach. We loved the drinks and appetizers that were passed around for guests, were very delicious and a thoughtful treat. We tried every restaurants on the property, but Nina's was a standout! Their drinks were fantastic, and the chicken with risotto was so incredible, we couldn't help but order it three times during our short, five-day stay. I was impressed with the fitness center's space and range of equipment – it offered a fantastic workout environment. The live music was a highlight! It perfectly set the mood and made dinner at Nina and The St. Regis Bar truly memorable. Definitely keep it going! The staff who made our stay incredible were Karine, Alexis, Julio, Jisselle, Elisabeth, Ravel, Elias, Avilda, OCyrus, Sahdi, Haneci, Crismely, and the young man at the pool bar, “Bryant” (I apologize for the spelling). We look forward to returning again.
