Customer service are super attentive, everything you need to find is easy because of how the things are distributed. If something is not there, you can order it and it will be there in the next 1-2 days. If you opted for the delivery service is a bit longer but the drivers are super nice and will help you with the order no questions asked.
Unfortunately I had a very unpleasant experience and the problem is not solved yet. I made a purchase total 21k Dop. Tried to pay with my US credit card. I always choose " Pay in DOP". The pos terminal didn't work and cashier "Eunile 5140" made the process on her screen. I told her the make sure its paid in DOP. And she said " that's ok!" Later I found out that she made it Usd and charged me extra 76 Usd. I went to customer support spent 2 hours and they canceled it and I made a second payment 76Usd less but I will have to call my bank and track my money and wait 7-10 days. Tank you ! "Eunile 5140"
I made multiple sizable purchases which came with many unneeded accessories. I told the sales representative that I didn't think I needed them and she mentioned I could easily return them if that ends up being the case but felt it would be a good idea that I have them just in case. The advice made sense so I made the purchase. After getting around to finishing the installation and not needing the extra hardware I tried to return all the unopened hardware but I lost my receipt. After the 30 minute commute and another 20 minute wait... the staff at the return desk acted, as instructed, like there was nothing they could do for me without a receipt. Suggesting that my only option was to go home and come back another day when I find my receipt. It is common knowledge that you (IKEA), like all modern businesses can reprint receipts. You have my passport on the invoice along with my credit card and your stupid Ikea family number.... everything you could ever need to validate my purchase but would prefer to turn a customer away instead of giving them proper custom service. This kind of treatment would not stand in the united states but I see that your organization likes to take advantage of this countries people, hence the different return policy. I guess you are hoping that the inconveniences you put on these people can turn to a little extra profit for yourself. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. I will make it a point, when ever possible, to bring my business else where and that is my recommendation to anyone else.
This review is just for this location and not IKEA as a brand. Very poorly ran branch, staff doesn’t seem to care. Security guard doesn’t understand the concept of when three people come out of the store, you let three people from the line outside inside. Security guard is too busy micromanaging the line itself telling people to get either in a freaking corner or too close to each other violating any social distancing. We’ve ordered a table and a chair, took 4 weeks to get it delivered. Horrible! Now we have been waiting for curtains to arrive for 1,5 weeks already when we were told it will take 5-6 days. Not 10-12! Also they always don’t have something. We ordered several things online and then they tell us they don’t have it, so we are trapped with having a credit with them. Then we go order something again and they don’t have a half of the order again. What is wrong with their supply chain and warehouse? They can’t update web site inventory accordingly?! Very unprofessional store. If there was no pandemic, we would drive to Santo Domingo to buy things there and get them immediately. Also, i won’t be surprised if our order has arrived and they are just too lazy to call us to let us know. They also never answer their phone. Avoid them if you can and deal with Santo Domingo store instead.
I have to say that at IKEA in Santiago I’ve received the best service since I’ve moved to Dominican 4 years ago. Yohanna 4617 was amazing I wish more places in DR would have this great service.
