Waited about 30 minutes for 3 grilled sandwiches. Wasn't worth the wait. The shakes are delicious, Pizza is terrible. I won't return.
This café is, for me, an icon of Santiago. I remember walking along 30 de Marzo/Calle del Sol, I'd stop to buy a slice of pizza that I loved for its flavor, size, and the unique crunch of the crust from being perfectly toasted. Well, after a few years, I stumbled upon this café again and found it had been renovated and its layout improved. You can find just about anything you can imagine, from pizza and toast to sandwiches... even freshly squeezed carrot juice made with fresh fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients. Keep in mind that it's a walk-up café, focused on serving anyone passing by. They offer fast and quality service (which is why this type of café was created), so don't expect tables or air conditioning. So give it a chance, stop by, and don't hesitate to order something. You'll see that their products are truly good.
They need to improve the cleanliness in the cafeteria. The display case and cutting board are dirty, and the employees aren't wearing gloves while handling food. If you order a smoothie and there's any left in the blender cup, the employees drink it right in front of you—the very smoothie you're paying for. They don't accept credit cards, and the prices are a bit high. They have a very modern billing system for what they offer. They need to improve the quality of service and cleanliness to continue charging the prices they're currently charging for their products.
What awful customer service! The young woman who served me was so rude. This café is a Santiago icon, but they've ruined it in a shocking way. To further damage their reputation, the only thing that was actually good was a fruit juice I ordered; everything else was so bad that nobody ate it. I'm sorry to have to write such a bad review, but when I tried to complain privately, they ignored me. I hope they improve.
Their service is terrible; the wait is way too long, even for a juice, even when the place is empty. They're incredibly inefficient. For example, I ordered a mangu (a type of green plantain dish) and they served it to me cold after a 45-minute wait.
