Toro is, without a doubt, one of the best places to eat inside the Hard Rock Punta Cana. Pro tip: make your reservation the moment you check in — as soon as you get that room number, lock it in. Just know that even with a reservation, you’ll probably end up waiting for a table… but hey, at least you know there’s steak in your future. The staff, though, are friendlier than a fan waiting for an autograph — super attentive and full of good vibes. Everyone at our table ordered something different, and we all left grinning like we’d just hit the jackpot. The cheesecake was the only one that missed the beat a little, but everything else was pure rock ‘n’ roll.
It was a nice dinner spot. Build was open and modern. You do need a reservation and they were pretty difficult when we were there. They seemed to be fully booked all the time but maybe released around 3-4. We got a last minute reservation for that night at 545 and made the reservation around 330. We were seated right away but there was a check in line. The service was probably the best of the restaurants. We had the bread which was delicious and a starter. I had the ceviche and it was fresh and well prepared. I had the skirt steak, baked potato and grilled veggies. All good but keep you expectations to local restaurant, not polished steakhouse. I would eat there again. The desserts were pretty and tasted good. I had the lemon mousse and tried the chocolate/coffee as well. Everything was pretty solid. 3.8 but they only let you do whole numbers.
Shout out to the wait staff for an exceptional job, I can only imagine how hard it is. This was our last restaurant for the trip and I had high hopes, but was unfortunately disappointed. For a “steak” house the ribeye tasted like one of the 24 hour diners in America where it was thin, overcooked and bland. The octopus was a much better dish. Not much to say about the apps besides meh. And the desert was one bite and done. Toro is one of the two restaurants where rsvp is require for a better experience. I guess this is the top of the pyramid for all inclusive dining. It must be hard catering to so many people.
Jean Carlos aka Bad Bunny was an amazing server. He was always on point. Not overbearing. Very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. We could not have ended our stay in a better way. Highly recommend Toro. 10/10
Why? 1- it all startef at the entrance, not very welcoming. The staff spoke as if they are superior, as if I was eating at a Michelin Star Restaurant. 2- The music was way too loud. I couldn't hear my wife talking. It reminded me of Chuck and Cheese restaurant for the kids. 3- The Air condition was too powerful, it was colder than Boston. 4- The food was less than one star. The "so called salad" was made of lettuce only, the dressing was the type you would buy from the supermarket shelf, without a taste, and it wasn't enough for a three year old kid. 5- I asked for a medium cooked steak, the blood ran down from the first cut. They need to learn how to cook a steak from a Yemeny, Iranian, Spanish, or Albanian restaurant. It was chewy without any taste. 6- I took one bite, and walked out, it was a thin Ribeye steak. The Octopus was dry. 7- The worst experience in my travels and I have been traveling for forty years. 8- I wonder why a place like that requires reservations. 9- A reminder to the staff/ Managers: You need the customers, not the way around. 10- Beyond disappointed.
